The Official Summer No Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/25

I watched it. The Crewe kids were feral :flushed:

Found same in Mansfield, a gobby burberry youth egging 3 of us over 40 years asking for a fight and asking where are your boys,my mate replied in my pants

I’ve not seen it yet but it would have been embarrassing for them if the camera crew were around after the game with how things played out

Was that the body slamming incident on that video that was posted or was that against someone else?

For the previous two posters this was the match the season before then that was covered, 22/23 not last season when it went off.

That’s a chaps lad who I work with who slammed the Crewe lad on the floor, after a group of Crewe lads were looking for trouble.

None of our lads got in trouble for scrapping as our football coppers said even the Crewe coppers said it was the Crewe lot looking for trouble and they did find it and came off second best on more than a couple of occasions.

Nothing wrong with saying we hope to continue with the recent track record of decent loan players, every club at this level uses them.

The club improved last January after learning that Draper would be recalled by going after someone that was local, ready to play and already scoring goals at this level in Mo Faal compared to the previous January when we signed Matty Stevens.

Personally I am disappointed if the plan is to get loans in.

So it would be better for him to say that we expected to sign some awful loan players?

Loans are part and parcel of the game except for the few clubs right at the top of the pecking order. Lots of PL teams use them, let alone League 2.

Never learn do they!!

Agreed. Terrible man management and I couldn’t blame Nolan for hating us. Especially given how our fans can give it but absolutely can’t take it.

Someone posted that we currently have 15 players signed up for next season and that with the max 5 loans we’d still be 5 players short of a full squad.
Surely that depends on whether the club sees 25 as the squad size. If the 3 currently out of contract all re-sign, you can bet that there will be no further permanent appointments.

I’d be amazed if we went through the entire summer without making a single permanent transfer.

And most will be pretty pissed off too if we don’t …

It is possible to have more loans but only 5 in matchday squad. But your point remains valid.

It’s the “Incremental Progression” approach, aka the “don’t show any real ambition” method of finishing mid-table Division 4!

Your always glass full aren’t you. I personally think it’s extremely disappointing that the only press release so far re transfer activity is to get loan players in.

I never boo a player in a Walsall shirt unless he is blatantly not trying - if they are trying their best and they make a mistake then I can’t fault them - they are only human!

At least with Jackson coming in permanently you don’t need to mess around getting in loan keepers during season as assume an experienced back up can be signed.

Think it will be similar to last season, a loan at the back, one upfront and possibly two in midfield.
