I wouldn’t mind Ryan Schofield between the sticks.
DJT is DJTs replacement.
Yes
I’d give him a go definitely worth a look.
Transfer listed on the BBC website, so fee involved by the looks of it.
My bad, transfer listed, sorry
You’re probably right there Andy, unless it means thay can guarantee a fee
Still might be a decent shout though i reckon he’d come here depends how much they want
If Hutch leaves, I’d take Liam Secombe from Cheltenham.
They’ve offered him new terms and he played 45 games (11 goals) but at 34, it would be a ‘golden oldie’ risk.
Maybe Dan Watson could have a word…
On the subject of Cheltenham, their former captain, Sean Long (aged 29) has been released (played 45 games last season).
He wouldn’t be a marauding RWB, but he has experience, leadership qualities and seems relatively fit (unlike many of the players that seem to be released by clubs).
@Walsall Fan TV (the joy and the pain) says we’re interested in JCH, probably in the same way I’m interested in Linda Lusardi though.
I’d let it go. You don’t want to get on the wrong side of Don Beech.
Only thing about JCH is that I think the strategy is to sign younger players with potential. Faal would be ideal but a few posters on here reckon he’s off to Shrewsbury?
I’d take JCH, Faal or Tshimanga - all of these would be great signings for us.
According to Wiki, he nearly signed for Bristol Rovers for 800,000 last summer, and Charlton for 500,000 in January. If that’s true , he’s going to attract a lot of interest as a free agent.
Unfortunately I can’t see us signing a striker anywhere near the calibre of JCH.I personally don’t see us moving too far away from the types of players we’ve had over the past couple of seasons and hoping for a one off season where that model works even though many of us on here know there’s a huge possibility it won’t.
Tbf players like JCH will demand wages way above our structure. Even if we were in league one we still wouldn’t pay them sort of wages.
I think some supporters forget this. Even Carlisle, who really struggled in league one, signed Luke Armstrong, who Wrexham were really keen on. That’s what we’re competing with.
It doesn’t mean that we can’t be successful; however, it’s never easy unless you pay wages like Stockport and Wrexham pay.
For what it’s worth, I’d rather have a sustainable future and one of the big attractions of a club like Walsall is that players should get paid (none of this going weeks without wages like the Morecambes and even, in the past few seasons, Boltons of this world)…
I just wish, for once, we go out there, surprise our fans, and make some real statement signings.
I’ll believe things will be different then.
Trivela have made it clear from day one that there not here to bankroll us, but i feel they will make us the best version of ourselves they possibly can and a version that is sustainable.
I think there strategy is clear by signing young hungry players who have a future sell on value and keeping a core squad of players together each season.
Anyone expecting/wanting some big name signings will be very disappointed, that said i do believe they will make a couple of marquee signings of decent quality.
JCH is a pipe dream it’ll never happen League 2 teams enquired in January including Wrexham and he wouldn’t drop down to this League Tshimanga isn’t beyond us if we are willing to pay a fee it would also go down well with the fans and show some intent.
That would be nice if we keep doing what we’ve done fans are going to lose patience and become more sceptical Trivela have been here long enough now.
