The Official Summer No Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/25

Think he was better at Crawley last season

I wouldn’t mind Macauley Bonne

Yeah it was just the chaos he caused for the Swindon late winner so could replicate that a few more times next season.

Certainly not an option to start many games next season. If he’s kept on and he is regularly starting games then something has badly gone wrong with the other strikers recruited e.g. DJT staying on.

Need to get it right as for too long promising Walsall teams haven’t quite fulfilled their potential due to chronic lack of decent finishers.

Dean Smith teams promised much for years and then finally got somewhere when Bradshaw was the one getting on the end of chances so that simply has to be the template for this summer.

I genuinely thought Oli Hawkins was still at Mansfield!

He’s one of those that was playing as striker for years but now regularly a CB so Sadler would probably have him playing box to box midfield. :joy:

What pisses me of with people talking about potential strikers who know where the back of the net is .
We have one in danny johnson and it’s up to Matt Sadler to give him games and most importantly confidence and find a way to get a very good finisher at this level into our team if we are to get out this division.

Don’t Suppose we will not find out the real reasons why our star striker has been left in the cold all season unless he leaves in the summer.
But i don’t expect him to move on with so little game time this season.
Feel sorry for him tbh because he really has been treated awfully by Sadler unless there has been a very good reason for him not to be involved.

DJ over josh everyday of the week .

Joe Sbarra released by Solihull Moors. I know he had his injuries at the start of last season, but seems a bit odd. Surely worth a look at.

Not bad for a goalkeeper

I’d happily pay a fee for Sbarra so should be in like a shot given he’s right on the doorstep and has good quality. Nice dribbler and hit 18 at national league level in 21/22.

Only concern is his output considerably dropped this season with the health issues but he was good for them in the play offs.

He reminds me of Oztumer. This is where you strengthen the first 11 as having him alongside Hutch would be exciting and then if Hutch moves on he can just move across and become the main creative in final third.

Agree totally with this as long as the medical boys are 100% sure he is over heart issues, and this isn’t the reason for this seasons drop off

That would go down well on UTS, signing a player released by a non league club…:face_with_peeking_eye:

Last summer or January when he was still under contract.

I would have happily signed him 2 years ago, but looks like injuries or health issues have halted his progression. Probably why he has been released.

I’d be a bit weary about signing a 30 year old player with potential fitness issues whose been released by a non-league club too. I think we can do better.

ah thanks - thought he was older - he might be worth a trial then.

  1. Which may or may not change things.

Only if the reason for him leaving was that he did not want to sign another contract. If they have booted him out, they will have had good reason to do so.
