The Official Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - 2025 edition

Or when the different players got injured.

First half of the season every game we brought on Earing and Hall, then at Christmas they got injured.

This season we have Clarke and Hollman off the bench in those same positions and going off Saturday, Clarke especially, he’s going to be so so good for us.

Re Gordon, he needs to go out on loan. Great substitutions from Sadler Saturday to stretch them. Ironically that sort of game is the only type i’d have considered bringing Gordon on in.

If i’m being greedy id like another striker, another defensive midfielder and another centre half

We need to re-sign Daniel Foxtrot and get that Pasa Dobra from Chesterfield!

Clarke’s movement for Barrett’s goal was outstanding - it shows he has a real football brain. I think right-sided midfield is his best position.

Agree - Adomah did a great job though when he came on and I think that’s Flash’s problem. Alberts a better footballer - just as fit - and probably about as good a finisher as Flash. Also more adaptable - So Albert gets what would be Flash’'s place on the bench for me. Only way Flash gets in is if Albert gets injured or needs a rest. I still don’t think Albert’s a Striker though - just useful upfront in certain situations. Needs to be out wide for me.

Yeah 100% not a striker, but Albert occupies and worries the opposition which is why he did well and is what we needed to give the defence some sort of a break from relentless attacking. Clarke as well who I thought was a wing back, looked good in midfield, when the game was opening up. Big with explosive pace.

Good assessment.
Albert’s fitter, wiser, more adaptable, and just as good a striker. Albert offers more than Gordon.

Anyone know how reputable this site is ?

Just checked looks like it’s a scam site

My Burnley supporting mate just told me it’s on their fans forum that it’s done

Is this their source, though?

Not sure.
I asked him yesterday if the rumour had legs, and that was his reply

Ben Sadler was Morecambe’s CEO when they signed him on loan in 22/23 so that is the link.

Get the feeling he was probably an alternative to Draper in January but he’d already gone to Bradford when that move had fallen through.

So true. DJ could have offered us a different end to the season had he been on the bench at Newport, but Sadler stuck to his formula.
Clarke though made a huge impact on the game on Saturday and not in his nominal position as Barrett’s sub. Perhaps Sadler is learning, but the worry is, when the going gets tough, people often revert to and cling-on, life raft-like, to what they know.

I think the Melon rumour can be traced back to Alan Nixon on X. The EFL ZONE are just requoting him.

He has us signing Melon and Swindon signing Westley.

Apparently a load of clubs after Westland, a few of which are in L1

I come in here expecting a few big back and forth arguments, or some wildly off topic conversations, and it is full of transfer rumours. Keeno’s.

He could fly down the wing and hover over the penalty spot.

Can his nickname be Chopper too?

I’m telling on you 'cus you went to the loo at half past 2.

Love a good retro word. Sconner. Scrubber. Dicksplash. I remember some Jamaican kids had us in stitches teaching us the word Bumbaclot.

I’ve got a dictionary of playground insults and games at home, which includes the full, uncensored version of the classic “Ip Dip” song. :face_with_peeking_eye:
