The Official Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - 2025 edition

I feel like the Mellon rumour seems unlikely reading burnleys site and what he probably expects in terms of game time
““I’ve had three loans where I’ve done okay but have been a bit of a squad player at times,” he finished.
“Wherever I go this year I need to make sure that I’m the main man and I think I need that.”

LOAN REPORT: MICHAEL MELLON | BurnleyFC

I read Burnley forum yesterday I got the impression one fan picked it up from our forum via the Nixon bloke jurno .that looks like the only source to me .might be wrong though .like the Chang thing Weres that come from I haven’t seen anything but speculation by our fans on UTS .

If Chang failed a medical with Barnsley why would we want to sign him, like taking a car for a test drive knowing it’s already failed it’s MOT

Not the same risk if he’s on loan.

Is it not also the case that some sports organisations fitness requirements will be different - perhaps theirs (Barnsley) is different to Blues (or our own.)

So we’re saying ours is not as rigorous as other clubs we take up a loan spot with a player who only plays 10-15 matches again who can only play when blues say he can , did that last season , not for me but what do I know :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Blues didnt put any restrictions on when Chang could play. MOC confirmed that.

Course they didn’t :joy:

Not the same risk as paying a fee and having a player on a contract.

No one is saying it is the case, it was posted as a question…

Personally, I imagine clubs do put focus on specifics that their sports/performance experts advise on - I wouldn’t see that as being anything dramatic or surprising…

Well he is the Blues loan manager and happy to say they had put restrictions on Hall’s game time, so not quite sure why you think he would lie about Chang

The injury Chang suffered is probably going to have a bearing on the whole of the rest of his career .doesn’t mean he’s finished as a footballer some clubs will take more risk than others then there is the level he can find to play at at .hes very young so got a good future ahead of him I hope .the lad had a serious setback hope he can come through it .

Don’t get me wrong I’d love us to sign Chang but after last season when he’d play and go mysteriously missing bit like Hall , and failing a medical is it a worth while chance , opinions eh

Assuming the deal is a loan, then Chang would be closer to Birmingham for his medical treatments. A move to Barnsley would make this harder meaning it would likely be at their expense - this may be why they rejected a deal.

Many years’ ago, Asa Hartford was due to go from Albion to Leeds but failed a medical due to a heart defect. He went on to play 750 times over 20 years, including 50 times for Scotland.

Fook me, don’t tell us we’re signing him please …

He’d probably still be more mobile than Jamma.
