The club need to pull something out their arses as going into the season without a striker would be taking the piss out of all those season ticket holders.

Strange how DJ rocks up at the training ground all smiley and wavy with boots in hand but has suffered an unknown viral infection meaning he wasnt able to work in the off season or take part in pre-season.

If the smug toe rags are taking the piss with smoke and mirrors I will not be happy.

I dont know why but i have no trust in Sadler or Boycott anymore. I just dont believe what they say.

I have just had a viral infection that stopped me moving my hands and arms. I couldnā€™t even bend my legs. My hands swelled up so much and became like claws. They were so bad I have had to have my wedding ring cut off. The pain was 10/10. My GP thought I had developed rheumatoid arthritis or similar but bloods fine. My colleague has now developed the same thing and was sent urgently to hospital for blood tests. I have no idea what it is but the children I work with are full of rashes and viruses. If Johnson has had this reaction to a virus, I can see why he would be out.

Iā€™ve had glandular fever twice. That knocked me right off my feet. Was off work with it the second time for 2 months

This DJ stuff seems a bit fishy to me. I think thereā€™s something more going on - likely a cover story to explain why heā€™s not going to Alvechurch tomorrow.

Makes me think maybe he was struggling for fitness last season and looks like it will be the same this season, lets be honest even when 100% fit he aint in great shape for a professional footballer.

Itā€™s a video so thereā€™s no text. Briefly - heā€™s had complications from a viral infection which stopped him working through the Summer and he hasnā€™t done any pre-season yet. Sadler doesnā€™t expect him to feature in any of the preseason fixtures, and theyā€™re waiting to find out what the long term picture is.

DJs viral infection is an absolute body blow. No prognosis or timeline on his return, he never really seemed to recover from missing the latter half of pre season last summer. If he plays no part in pre season itā€™s really tough to get back fit for first team action given we have no reserve team fixtures any more.

Iā€™ve said before but given Mattā€™s fitness issues and age even with 2 more forwards signed I still think weā€™re going in light if DJ is out indefinitely.

Still at least we know who will be up front tomorrow.
