Makes me laugh, fans say the club aren’t communicating. When they do put out comms with an update, people don’t believe it
It’s hardly cloak and dagger. Instead of waiting for people to start asking why he’s not playing, they’ve come out ahead of the story and let people know that he won’t be playing and given us some information why. We’re not entitled to know Danny Johnson’s (or any other player’s) full medical history so they’ve said as much as they can. If there’s a medical issue, it’s between Danny and his doctor. From what we do know, its not a trivial problem.
We want more communication from the club. We want to be kept informed!
Sadler does radio interview and provides an update on DJ via club media.
F#£k me I can’t listen to Sadler. He bores the life out of me. He puts me to sleep.
I don’t believe a word Sadler says about DJ. F#£king club are spinning bulls#£t and I don’t believe a word they say.
The club are so poor with communication…
It is hard to not be slightly cynical given what’s happened up to this point, seems very convenient but obviously wish him well if there is an issue.
Club have got to move on forwards and quickly so we can get them some game time during pre season.
What the feck is happening to our football club we are becoming a laughing stock always keeping the fans in the dark waiting for news about what’s happening on the transfer front its like being waterboarded by the club you love
I’ve no idea what goes on behind the scenes so I tend to take things at face value until more is known about any issue. If DJ is suffering from a viral infection then so be it and I wish him a speedy recovery.
We needed more firepower upfront as it stood so to lose Danny Johnson at this stage is a serious setback and the club will have to deal with it.
The problem with viral infections is that no one knows when they will end.I had one when I was working and had all the tests available and was told that it could last for a few days or a few months or even a year or two. I was off work for 5 weeks but not fully fit for about 9 weeks. Instead of all this cynicism perhaps we should spare a thought for him and also for the Club after all of last years problems with getting players fit.
I for one don’t disbelieve what Sadler says but unfortunately it means we have a large wage being tied up by a player that isn’t available for the foreseeable future.
It is now imperative we bring in a couple of quality strikers. A loan would make sense as it would by DJ some time To get fit and save us signing someone permanent that may become surplus to requirements.
Or worse still he recalls DJT
Sadler best hit the ground running. No excuses. DJ was never in his plans.
I doubt that…I think he will play a bigger part this season (when fit).
He daint last season, what makes ya think he will this, Sadler played DJT rather than DJ off the bench
I doubt DJ was fully fit for most of last season but it suits some folk to think he was badly treated by MS. That theory just doesn’t make sense if as some think he is our highest earner.
Isn’t AI great… here’s an automated transcript with the ‘ums’ removed.
Q: One person who won’t be available for those is Danny Johnson could you just clear up that situation for us please?
A: Yeah unfortunately Dan’s not been able to train. There were some complications from a viral infection in the offseason which kind of come out the blue a little bit and because of that he wasn’t able to train in the offseason and then that’s obviously carried on into preseason. We’re unsure what the timeline on that is at the moment. I don’t expect him to play in any of the preseason games but we’re kind of working closely with the medical guys and we’re kind of awaiting advice from specialist to see what that next step looks like but listen Dan’s here he’s in the building every day he’s doing the bits that he can do and we just kind as I said we’re working really closely with the guys to see when that then becomes that we can get him back out there but at the moment there’s a unspecified time on that and as I say might take a little bit of time with the fact that he hasn’t been able to do anything in the offseason so that’s probably all I can say on it at the minute because the picture is not 100% clear but you know whatever happens he’s got complete support in terms of getting him back and we’ll just keep working as to to those timelines when we find out more.
That rings true to me. It is a great blow.
By saying that, you might well have told them, if that is the case
Most of us didn’t think DJ was going to play a major part again this season so this news doesn’t really change anything on that front.
The club has always had to do more on the forward front, I’d just like them to get a move on with it so we can get them in, training, friendlies and building relationships, rather than pissing 4 games up the wall waiting until transfer deadline day.
Over to Trivela/Sadler/Westie
You remember Ash Taylor, right? Being told he was ill, then transferred and playing the next night?
As for the whining about people whining, I’m sorry not everyone has the same opinion as you must be hard.
wow !!!. more brutal than anything I’ve posted !!!
Looks on his death bed the poor goose.
