The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread 2024 II

Swan probably offered a loaf of bread

Shame, a previous Manfield born striker who had played for Nottingham Forest didnt turn out too bad for us.

I’m very disappointed if he’s rejected us even though 24 hours ago I hadn’t heard of him and in 24 hours time I’ll have forgotten all about him.

This is where I stand, I hope and expect the players we are after are worth playing the long game for rather than panicking to get anyone in with still 3 weeks to the start of the season. The DJ setback has been a fly in the ointment to this approach though and has really necessitated us to expedite at least one of these forward signings.

Sorry I’m having to post a rumour I’ve been told but tbh I don’t really know the guy so it could be Billy bulls**t
One as Westie said we are trying for Mo but WBA aren’t sure they want to go down that route

More interestingly we have put a cheeky bid in for Will Evans from Newport, I must admit I was doubtful but he’s been left out of there latest friendly so if not us looks like someone may have???

Please don’t shoot the messenger I’m no Westie or mole lol

I think Will Evans is being strongly linked with Bristol Rovers

They have signed CF Promise Omochere today from Fleetwood for a big transfer fee so unlikely to splash out again for another CF.

I heard it was Blackburn who was interested in Evans doubt we’d be able to compete with any League 1/ Championship sides. But it would be a statement signing if we did pull it off

He is yet to play in pre-season for County due to a niggling injury.

Absolutely no chance Evans will come here. Even on the off chance we made a respectable bid.

lol at least it’s not Covid lol, been protected prior to a sale perhaps ( not saying it’s us btw)

Probably gone hot foot to Fleetwood with that other guy :flushed:

@cjdsaddler

Trevor Christie?

God, that was a mighty fine forward line, wasn’t it? Cross, Kelly and Too Tall Trev with Shakespeare and Willie Naughton too!

My dad always told me, ā€œYou’re being spoilt son. It won’t always be like this.ā€ :face_holding_back_tears::heart:

As usual, he was right…

Did you just say ā€œ three or four quality players ā€œ :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Onana to Villa from Everton expected to be completed over the weekend.

I expect Dyche to go full on for Elijah.

With between £2m. and £4m, we could go for someone like Duk from Aberdeen and insert a sell-out clause so if he rips up the league, we get a tidy profit.

Exeter’s recent success can be pretty much attributed to their sale of Ollie Watkins.

We need one of the counters to drop and we can start to dream!

Didn’t know when we were well off, did we?

Baffles me how we ever signed him as a 3rd division club. **He was one of the top scorers in the First Division when Notts County were relegated! In 83/84 season **

Nor did Terry Ramsden to be fair… @Shrewsbury-Saddler

Definitely different times Andy.
The wage gap between top flight and third tier clubs was nowhere near what it is now.
