The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread 2024 II

Diff rules down in league 1 and 2 though. Hence Birminghams current spend. The days when Walsall have to worry about ffp is the day I keel over and die :sob:

I don’t think it helps when posters are painted as happy clappers or negative. There are a few exceptions on both sides, but most people are pretty balanced.

Personally, I really like what Trivela are doing and trust them to turn around a ship that was in utterly desperate shape. I like that we own the ground, the board overhaul is amazing as the last lot failed, the team is massively improved in my opinion.

I also have major doubts about Sadler but I’m open to the possibility of him growing and improving.

I think we need a couple of strikers, the club agrees and we’re trying to sign them.

Overall I’m pretty happy but there are a couple of areas on the playing side that I’m not totally convinced on.

The situation at the club is pretty good, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. I’m not a happy clapper, I’m not negative about everything - most posters are the same (apart from a few) if you just read what they say and engage in debate in good faith.

Faal and Swan/Evans and I’ll be very happy :grinning:

A very well put post.

Even @Gensanx123 would crack a smile at that forward line.

Excellent post.
Unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears with some on here.

Im really looking forward to the new season, i enjoy supporting this club. Its never been great year on year, closest i saw to consistent good times was Richard Money era before BONSER pulled the funding out and bought himself a new Audi with the Dann and Fox money.

Smith era was great football too. Close on many occasions but Walsall never just go that one step further.

The gap grows by year. I feel something is coming though. Blind optimism perhaps…

We’d have gone up if smith stayed or we went straight to Whitney and kept everything the same. It’s still frustrating to this day

Some guy on X has heard we’ve agreed a 1 year loan deal for Faal with no recall option.

The quote:

Walsall and West Brom have reached an agreement over the loan of Mo Faal who is set to accept the loan, he will join on a one year deal with no option to recall, expected to be announced between now and early next week. #saddlers

Make of it what you will, not entirely convinced it’s a reliable source.

As good as signing him!!

Putting a bid in for striker is easy and shows little intent. Getting a bid accepted and agreeing terms shows intent, especially if he comes from a higher division.

There have been plenty of strikers available, you need only look at Vale’s signings. Stockley, Paton, Curtis, Tolaj - the players were out there if you are willing to pay.

As has been debated, Matt and Gordon aren’t going to get you promoted.

We will claim we’ve been patiently waiting for Faal, but we still need another, and what if a league 1 side shows interest in Faal. Risky strategy.

Need to pull a rabbit out of a hat, and soon.

Wonder if trivela will ever break outright makris transfer record - makris over Gordon btw

I’d be happy with Faal, there’s a player in there for sure. I’m not believing anything yet though.

I’d still like one more forward to freshen it up a little even if he does join.

Faal was both good and awful at the same time
Very interesting player

There’s a rumour on social media that that post is going to get a lot of likes.

I’ve heard that Faal is a done deal and that we’ll make another bid for Swan but not hopeful. Johnson possibly out on loan
