I don’t think Gordon is as bad as people make out and will be OK as a squad player. HOWEVER, we must sign some quality to provide competition / quality
The owl has been next to us relaxing on the sun loungers all day.Have to say it was a pain in the arse applying the sun cream this morning but early indications are that the owl has not burnt anywhere so it was worth it in the end.
Josh Gordon resigning just proves that trivela aren’t serious about promotion
How anyone involved in league football things Gordon’s a even ok player is crazy to me
I’d rather have lavery , Parkin or even ryan dam Jarvis over him and that says it all. Blokes a useless striker who can run around a little bit like a hyperactive toddler
@CompletelySaddled might be able to go into more detail, but Gordon is probably at a similar stage to what Danilo Orsi was this time last year where he’d gone through abit of a dry spell, was putting in the work to suggest he could score goals and Crawley took a punt on him with his stock being so low knowing that if given a little time, he’ll work for the team.
This time last year, he was one of the most sought after strikers in the division having got 15 goals for Barrow. His time at Burton wasn’t good because they sacked their manager pretty much straight away.
If he comes here with Johnson, Matt, Faal and another striker, can’t see why that forward line wouldn’t be good enough with better service around them, now we have players such as actual wing backs in Barrett and contributing midfielders like Lakin.
That strike force was embarrassingly bad last year except for faal who was crazy in consistent .
How you think it will be better next year even with better service amazes me. It’s a dam awful strike force
I appreciate positivity but it’s a waste of a wage. Apart from the ‘freak’ season at Barrow, he has been a professional Greyhound.
Whilst I admire you searching for positivity and hope you turn out correct rather than me, this is pretty serious straw clutching.
And we don’t want to upset the fans’ meeting tonight.
I’ve always liked Gordon and whilst he’ll most likely never be a focal striker as a second striker I feel he can offer something. Problem we had last season was also our brightest spark in Hutch, who had as many games where it seemed like he was playing for himself as for the team.
I get he probably got frustrated that he was both doubled up on and ahead of a lot of the players in talent but it did lead to him being selfish at times. Hopefully Lakin is slightly deeper looking to provide assists which means more chances for the strikers and add in proper assists from Barrett, hopefully means more chances for whichever strikers we have. I also get a feeling Sadler wants goals spread out to stop things like off days of a star player meaning we have no hope and hard work and organisation will win us games and at least make them tight.
Ideally it would be nice to have a hard working team and a star player but I don’t think our budget allows that hence why we don’t seem to have rumours flying about of us chasing stand out names.
Difference being we are potentially taking a 3rd punt on Gordon, read that again……a 3RD punt on him
He won’t need to rotate his neck much next season if Matt and Gordon are playing upfront!!
Definition of madness: doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result. Gordon couldn’t hit a cow’s @rse with a banjo in his first spell and he couldn’t even locate the herd in his second spell!!
7/4 best price for a top seven finish at the moment.
20/1 to win the league and 5/1 to get promoted.
Won’t be getting involved at those stingy odds.
That’s one of the reasons I’m not keen on having him back again. It just feels like a been there done that moment and me personally I don’t think he’s even that good to warrant having him back.I’d understand it if he was excellent when he’d been here before and even the chance of having him again was an exciting prospect in itself but it’s just nowhere near the reality of the situation.
If Josh is signing, lets hope he can bring the shooting boots he wore at Barrow.
@Scooby2167 Owl is getting a tan.
Most teams that were in this division last season are in the betting round about where they finished in the table, Gillingham being the exception. I don’t think the bookies know much more than we do at this stage.
I don’t think the bookies take much notice of pre season.
They are reactive, the odds will fluctuate with the amount of money being staked.
A lot of fans back their own team, so Bradford, with the size of their fan base, are always poor value.
Did I say I did
More chance of Etheridge returning than Ruddy. A move that I think we would all welcome
