With the proviso that these timescales are generally optimistic. It takes longer far more often than someone coming back early.
Yes, Brandon Comley was “6 weeks” but it has been 8 and there is still another fortnight.
It’s like the brass plates you get in pubs saying “Free Beer Tomorrow”
Great game and a gutsy win against a really experienced side. Other than the 20 minute spell in the second half we were the better side. Things looking good at last.
The treatment table looks a bit lighter than the last time I did this which is good news, but some of the injuries worse than feared which isn’t.
My best guess:-
Farquerharson - hamstring - back January
Mcentee - calf - back mid October
Daniels - knee op - back mid October
Comley - broken leg - back mid October
J Gordon - hamstring - back early October
So that’s five out rather than eight. L Gordon, Johnson and Adomah all returned with no new injuries assuming that Barrett and Matt’s withdrawals yesterday were more fatigue related than injuries.
I’m glad we’re exploring the free agent market for a centre back as that seems the area with the most risk and given the history of the three centre backs we have out, we don’t want to rush any of them back.
I think you might find the latter 2 in particular will be back before then. Sadler made the point yesterday that some were now very close to returning.
Hope so. We’ll get a clue from Tuesday night’s squad.
We will but the 3 longer term ones appear to be the CBs so like you I hope we can bring one more in.
Great news.
If Josh and Comley return that leaves just three on the table which is probably par for a squad of our size (24?).
The only downside is that the three all play in the same bloody position.
Good news on all of them it seems
"Donervon Daniels (knee) and Josh Gordon (hamstring) are also edging closer to returns but are not expected to be available.
Oisin McEntee (calf) is not far behind them and could make his comeback later this month.
Thought Daniels & mcentee would be further off then that
Josh Gordon has had surgery on his hamstring, looking at around 3 months out.
Good luck with his recovery but don’t think we’ll miss him haven’t up till now
I wouldn’t say that, he is still a useful player to have available.
It feels like this was avoidable. I can’t remember which game he got injured now but he was injured previously and probably wasn’t ready to return.
I’m sure he will still play an important part in our season.
I think losing Gordon is a blow due to the nature of the rest of the forwards. He can pair with any of them. Would do the running for Johnson and Matt. Lowe has been very good but may have a dip being so young and Cleary is unproven.
I agree. He brings something different to the table.
Do we have any other new injuries? Earing? Cleary?
Cleary was cup tied, not sure about Earing
Earing set to have a scan for tightness in his hamstring, hopefully nothing serious
Yeah said the same to a mate, he was injured when he scored against Swindon and then played in another one or two games which won’t have helped.
