Walsall FC fans - just Glory Hunters, the lot of them.
Not for me any of that, but its a free country, if that’s how he enjoys the day that’s down to him. Things like this have always gone on, non-league football is festooned with “groundhoppers” for example.
We used to have a bloke with us back in the 80’s that travelled everywhere we went with Walsall, he used to get royally pissed in the pre-match boozer and wander in for the last 15 minutes. I could never believe the bloke, but next week he’d be there again. Everyone’s different, so long as I didn’t have to sit next to him in the car I came to realise that was how he enjoyed himself, other folks just went for a scrap, others had a nervous breakdown if they missed buying a program. Attending football isn’t a universally rational behaviour. These “tourists” are just a modern take and those of us of a certain age dislike them for their modernity is how I see it.
Said nobody ever
We’re a smaller club than many. Every single one of our supporters is a real supporter.
And that’s fair enough. Just my view on the big clubs when they get thousands of them turn up every home game. Glad I support walsall and there’s empty seats instead.
Not for me. Much rather the ground was filled with thousands of folks enthralled with the day out (on whatever terms), bringing much needed dosh into the clubs coffers and pumping money into the town’s flagging economy.
Tbf there’s no atmosphere at bescot anyways so it would make no difference. Would just drive me mad if someone was taking photos every 2 mins during the match. The camera would likely be flung on the pitch and I don’t mean from a phone. I’ve seen Chinese at Man City home games with massive hand held cameras doing it, not for me.
Funny you should say that, at a home league cup-tie against Halifax in 1978, there was a right ruccous in the centre stand at FP with some Halifax fan with an 8mm cine camera the wouldn’t sit down. Remember my dad getting involved, and the only time I ever saw coppers in there.
Costing me a fortune to watch the game this afternoon on iFollow. Cruising in the med, I had to pay 24 quid to get a decent WiFi signal on board ship by satellite. Plus 12.75 to watch iFollow (apparently the satellite system comes from the USA)
I must be a fan!
Must be attending a different club to me. The queues in the middle teir suite at half time are absolutely horrendous. A complete joke. Yes bars fewer but 12 Yr old don’t drink pints
Same In the lower. If you want a beer at half time your leaving at 35 mins or forget itZ
Christ almighty a post I agree with from Mr Peel we should frame it
Don’t know what club he’s referring to but it’s not the one I’m familar with. The queue snaked round 5 deep the length of the bar when I was there and one of the stewards was organising it. Dosnt sound like a 5 minute queue to me
Hahaha whats the world coming too?
Next we’ll have me and Completely Saddled drinking a pint together one day!!
The last time that happened was the first game of the season…. last season. So you haven’t been since then?
Literally been barely any queues this season, just finding excuses to take a pop at Trivela
After today there will be barely any fans to form queues!!
They don’t care.
The club cares about Season Ticket sales. Cash is king. Money in the bank asap.
Sign a player we like (like DJ)
Bring back a fans favourite.
Sack the manager etc
Announce good news to tie in with getting cash.
Wake up folks. They treat you like customers - when you are Supporters.
Tedious.
Are you missing having Bonser to moan about? Has it left a void in your life? Need a new cause to moan about?
