The TV supporter

I mean I’d rather have something/anything to shout about.

Tedious is a good word though and sums up following Walsall for the past 5 years or more.

10 games was the benchmark to assess where we are at. Using the points per game you used in another thread earlier to make your point we will finish 1 point better off than last season. Incremental progress and all that.

Still plenty of time left this season and time to make things better but let’s be honest it has a familiar feel to it.

So you are happy that our self proclaimed forward thinking dynamic football group owners came to the conclusion that May Sadler was the man to change this clubs fortunes.

Nope. Not good enough. Expectations are better than that.

Fair assessment, which sums it all up without all the panic and doom mongering.
If we can fluke the result against Bradford then we’re still on for the1.4 mark, it’s possible but not probable. But who knows I’ve long had the attitude that @P.T has adopted I want us to do well and I’m absolutely flying when we do, but there’s no point in getting overly miserable when we ain’t all that good. As I’ve said before I adopt the approach that’s it’s just a matter of time 'til we improve again and are back in our niche of 12th in Div 3. Simply don’t think about the possibility of relegation from the league, we’re too average for that.

That would certainly go down into the history books alright along side beating Sunderland away 3-0 after 17 straight defeats. Blimey we don’t half suffer following our team dow we!

Dont hold your breath

@JoaquinErnesto i subscribe to the mentality.

BUT

We are sailing to close to being a non league club. We’ve had a succession of managers - some very good who’ve started well and nose dived showing relegation form.

There’s already a lot about us stinks of non league and it has for a while. I’m talking structure and people. The football has been steadily joining it.

Things can change quickly but we seem light years away from being in Division 3. In fact the longer we remain in this division the more likely it feels to me that we will drop out the other end. We have already had a couple of scares that should have woken us up to that possibility.

I can’t deny I sometimes come on here for a bit of a moan. Just gets it out of the system. I used to just go to the pub and get drunk but those days are long gone.

I hated Covid and being restricted to ifollow.

I couldn’t have watched today on the telly. When I watch football on the telly it tends to be good football. When you reduce the Walsall experience to just the football it’s pretty rubbish.

For me it’s either be there or pretend it’s not happening.

I understand that point of view but the other side of the coin is that there are many fans (such as my good self and others that post on here) that live fully or partly overseas. Ifollow is fantastic. Allows us to watch the games and financially support the club.

Fair shout.

And maybe if it was the only way I could watch I’d be tuning in. Bit like Covid times. We just manage to look worse on the telly and it’s quite a sterile experience.

I’d like to bet there are more people in the UK using it than those abroad.

I get what PT is saying. I didn’t go today cos my little lad isn’t well and didn’t feel right going without him. We had access to the game but I only watched bits of it and got on with other things.

No point anyone fighting it anyway, football will go more and more down that route as years pass by.

Yep
It’s second best, by a long way to actually being at the games, but at least I can still watch my team play “live” every week, which years ago I couldn’t.

No doubt. Plenty who post on here watch on fire sticks on Saturdays and others buy ifollow midweek.
I have a fire stick but still buy the ifollow season ticket as I want to make a financial contribution to the club.

I think I’m going to become a TV Supporter….

Today was a day that I felt relief that I watched it free on tv and didn’t part with 27 quid.

Dreadful. Sadler out

Last game i went to was 2 seasons ago went regularly up until the covid shutdown for years and years sounds terrible but i can get free tickets as well but i just can’t be arsed anymore its become an effort in recent years so i tend to watch it on the stick now.

Me 2. Just a complete waste of 27 quid. Watching a team 17th 18th in league 4

Every one is entitled to do their own thing mate and I respect that. I do think though that if you aren’t putting money into the club then it dilutes the argument to criticise why we aren’t competing with those clubs that have higher match day revenues.
Even clubs like Bradford, Swindon and Mansfield are toiling in this league with far more paying customers.

Yeah that’s fair enough but I’ve put plenty in of almost 40 years following us home and away previously the last few years have just beaten me down and I’ve lost some enthusiasm for it will always still care and love the club though

How many do Mansfield get these days? I genuinely don’t know, I always saw them as a smaller club than us.

They will go up sooner or later, there abouts every year, they look and act like a club that genuinely wants to get out of this division. They haven’t made it yet but within the next 3 years for sure I’d say.
