Trivela impact?

Slight omission from your analysis. Have you ever thought that the Americans MIGHT make MORE than the hated Jeff Bonser ever did

Food for thought eh :sweat_smile::sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

Well yes of course sanitation, that was absolutely dreadful before they arrived. But apart from sanitation and the aqueduct?

Literally NOBODY has said they are the only important things, especially above league position.

Will you admit you have completely made that up?

Personally I like trivela and Ben so far. It’s far too early to judge them in my opinion. The changes they are implementing will likely take some time to filter through. They’ve purchased the freehold much quicker than we thought expected. I’m not inspired by Sadler but time might prove me and others wrong with that.

Bonser let the club go moribund and pomlett although had good intensions was out his depth.

I like BB so far. He speaks a lot of sense. I know words are cheap, but, I think their commitment to Walsall has been demonstrated by getting the freehold back, Saddlers club, and most of all - the investment in the squad over the last season. I think we paid at least two transfer fees (Matt, Knowles) - I can’t remember the last time we did that!

I like the strategy about making it not all about the manager. Managers are always temporary - either they get sacked or they move onto better things. Look at Brentford, Brighton who continue to do well after losing managers. I want a club like that, and look forward to hearing what plans Trivela have in store for Walsall over the next few months.

One thing these reporters never seem to publish is that we are one of the only clubs in the country to offer free football for under 18s and have done now for around 13 years.

I don’t get why the club either do not advertise this more.

Can’t knock the effort in improving/investing in the playing squad last year, it just didn’t work. Matt and Stevens upfront in Jan would have been a fever dream in any other year, they tried to replace DJ with the top strike partnership from the previous season and that won’t have been cheap. Can’t knock the player investment IMO but it just didn’t work out as we all know

Do we believe Pomlett/Gamble/Boycott when they say the annual repayments for the purchase of the freehold are lower than the rent?

Why cant the club inform us of how much they paid Bonser and number of years until we clear the debt of the purchase? Who did we borrow the money from? and what happens if we default?

Remember 30 years ago that Bonser ā€˜acquired’ the freehold for himself and not for the club! Don’t we wish we knew more details back then so we could have tried to stop it from happening?

Can lightening strike twice?

Yes, I do believe it’s cheaper than the extortionate level of rent that would continue to rise.

Can’t see the point in knowing the other detail tbh.

Boner, if not both parties would have a NDA in place.

Because they don’t have a clue when it comes to marketing and media. The club never has - dating back to the Boner years its always been poor, dated and cheap.

You can tell that Whallet oversaw the operation and that the current ops were mentored by him. I often find our advertising cheesy, cheap looking and quite often poorly timed

Did you see the interview Funk. He was sitting in front of a photograph advertising Banks’s on the shirt :joy:

Really? I thought land/property transactions were a matter of public record. Although I stand to be corrected.

I didn’t think so, but I also stand to be corrected.

Just after we had been relegated under Keates with that toxic squad, they posted some images of our greatest players or something very similar. Obvs it went down like a lead balloon.

It’s this kind of stuff that drives me up the wall. Okay your being paid peanuts but just use a bit of common sense. There are countless similar examples over the last few years - the criminal with a history of banning orders on the promo material was the worst.

How? Even if they sell the land at the Bezla and the training ground, it might make a couple of million profit - or 4 years’ rent to the pension fund! I reckon our No.1 fan and the pension fund have had around Ā£15-20 million from their association with Walsall FC. Not a bad return!

I’m still unsure about why they are here and what exactly they are trying to acheive. But I do think they need more time.

They brought the stadium very quickly, which was a top priority for many fans. As for last season’s debacle on the pitch, that was mostly down to Flynn in my opinion, but he gets a free ride from a lot of fans for some reason.

The fact the same old faces behind the scences are still so prominent does concern me though.

As others have said, if Saddler flops it will not reflect well on Trivela and could really set us back in terms of attendances and goodwill
