As long as it’s not against us

Would have only liked him to have resigned as a right wing back, but I think Riley/Bennett will be better as it is their natural position, so not overly bothered.

He was cack as a winger.

You could argue it’s a chance for the kid to put himself into the shop window to make themselves a lower league career.

Probably not though given the Premiershit

Oh well. Bang average

All the best to him

Well, I thought he made massive improvements under Flynn and am sorry we were not able to keep him. Swindon are no mugs and now there’s another ex-player to score against us.

The epitome of a confidence player. If he beat his man in the first ten minutes he’d have a decent game. If he didn’t then he’d go missing, not even attempt to take his man in, and play the ball backwards and sideways.

I wouldn’t have minded him as a wide utility player, able to fill in at wing back or play as an out and out winger if the system changed. I’d much rather have the specialists that we have in the wing back positions though.

I knew he weren’t coming back as Flynn had already filled those positions. Agreed massive improvement from him under Flynn.

Think his time with us will have done him the world of good overall.
He did improve as the season went on and I personally can see him being much better next season as he does have a lot of attributes to only improve

Totally agree (stick it in your scrap book).

As a forward, he was a half decent defender. As others have said, during his time with us he didn’t beat his man/deliver any end product anywhere near enough when attacking.

He is still only young though so plenty of time for him to develope, especially under a decent coach using him in the right way. Only time will tell if we made the right choice in not offering him a deal and going for MF’s other choices instead.

I thought his best game was his debut at Tranmere. He has loads of potential and could and should be playing league 1, but something is missing. Prior to the Swindon game I’d have kept him, but I think he badly let down Devine in the 1st half. Wish him well, but I don’t think Swindon will be up there next season. Too many have left.

I quite like Shade - a young athlete who I think would continue to grow. So a loss for me.

What I’d really like to know, though: was Shade on our wanted list? If he was an we have been outbid by Swindon, it gives us a signpost of what finances and determination we really have.

Most disappointing player for me last season. Not the worst but most disappointing as of the signings thought he might show some real quality but never really showed that. Having said that could do that for Swindon thus season if he starts to turn some of that potential into actual performances, who knows. As it us not real bothered about him not returned based on last year no better than many others in this division.

I obviously don’t know but I would say that is not the case. Most likely not in Flynn’s plans. He got him to do a job at left wing-back to get the job done (staying up) He did reasonably well in that role but nothing spectacular. I think Flynn just fancied his own targets more for the wing-back roles.

Can’t say I’m too bothered.

Well we were told by either MT or JF that we were lucky to have him last season if I recall correctly.
He may develop into a decent player but from what I witnessed he’s miles off it, especially his end product and decision making

He played in 39 tier 4 games last season at 21 years old. Must have been a pretty steep learning curve for a lad from a Premier League set up.He performed better after Flynn came in, as did many others, but some of Shade’s improvement would have come from experience of playing professional football.

It isn’t the end of the world that he has gone, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he went on to better things.
