Has anyone seen the 5 fixtures following this game…?
I think we really need to win this one.

Personally believe we will lose this one… dont have any confidence in us winning atm…keep sadler in charge and i can see a relegation battle on our hands
Id be surprised if we got 4 points out of them! But that could completely flip if we have an outstanding game on Saturday…
Win at home in a few days in style and we could march into those games with alot of confidence and possibly get 9 or 10 points.
Yep, that’s why I think it’s big game!
There’s little if any evidence from results to suggest that this division isn’t just 24 teams that are much the same standard and capable of beating each other on any given day. The ones that will challenge at the top end will be marginally better than the rest consistency wise, probably arising from having a system that a coach has instilled and recruited towards which facilitates defensive cohesion and a modecom of attacking ability. The more worrying thing is that there doesn’t seem to be two obvious duds.
make no mistake, this saturday’s game is a must win
Still August and we’re in “must win” territory apparently
We sure are, upcoming fixtures don’t fill us with a great deal of confidence for securing any more points, so a few points on Saturday are vital to stop a slide to the bottom, which would be very difficult to extricate ourselves from.
I was hoping for great things this season, we appeared to have recruited more substantial quality players, who have regrettably turned into ‘average’ 4th Division fodder, our top high earning defender is a frequent flyer in the treatment room and our remaining fragile defence has doomed us to yet another struggle, unfortunately.
Last nights promise of a loan of a Prem reserve before Saturday doesn’t fill us with a great deal of optimism.
Makes you wonder what could possibly happen if we don’t win which definitely wouldn’t happen if we do.
Not must win but given our away form in recent times which after 3 away games is much the same, our home games are really important.
Shall we just not bother turning up to the away games then?
Seems like we haven’t been for some time now.
Funny, because I could have sworn we scored 7 goals in our last 3 away games.
I dunno, you are a sensible poster, I don’t need to point out the blindingly obvious about that statement.
Fair enough Crewe was a lot better in terms of performance and we were a tad unfortunate not to win.
You are right no game is “must win” at this stage of the season but I don’t want us dragged into the battle at the bottom. Let’s say a win would be more than welcome Saturday and take off a bit of the pressure that will inevitable build.
ill do it for you. It shows we have turned up for away games this season.
Okay we have taken 1 point from 9 and been knocked out of a cup if you want to go down that road. Not really how I intended the debate to go but if you want to be all factual about it.
Yes, it is more pleasing on the eye, but if you want Sadler to remain and have the chance to do anything, not getting dragged into the relegation battle is important.
I do actually want Walsall to win and do bother with away games every time I can.
I’m going for a 3:0 all the pieces gel and the formation clicks. We will show resilience and attacking flair. Hutchinson with 1, DJ with 1 and Matt 1 (hitting him on the back of the head into the net from a Draper cross). Matt Sadler will then do three massive fist pumps to the crowd of 4789
if we don’t win Saturday it becomes winless in 5 games, confidence drops further, more questions get asked about Sadler & it’s a team who lets be honest won’t be anywhere near the top, so yes it’s a game we must be winning.
That was the point I was trying to make really, I probably didn’t do a very good job of it.
“Must win” is a bit strong at this stage of the season but if we don’t win Saturday and with some tricky fixtures coming up, the pressure starts to build.
Every game is important when you look back over a season.
The next three I’m particularly excited about
Colchester because we need to start putting together a few wins to build confidence
Salford because we need to win an away game
Swindon we go up against our previous manager and it will be fascinating.
I do think we will beat Colchester and Salford to break the away woes but I’m expecting bugger all in Wiltshire.
