Can’t argue with that assessment!! I’d add: Earing- good little 20 minute cameo - showed some good touches and nearly scored.
In the 14 games I make it we’ve played at home in all competitions, we’ve scored first 7 times with a record of W6 D1 L0. Weirdly when we’ve scored first away we haven’t yet won, all four wins have come from behind and have yet to win from behind at home.
*always happy to proved wrong on stats.
Great win, up the saddlers
Flippin’ heck! Have you been visited by three ghosts or something?
No. I just tell it like it is. And yes I was there.
Still believe a better manager would have us much higher up the table but I’ll take a win against crewe who are a bogey team for us.
Bring on Wrexham!
Delighted with the 3 points especially after the awful Accrington performance.
Only got to watch the second half. The delivery of the corner for the second goal was quality which set it up lovely for McEntee.
Would like to see us win a few more headers in the box and block a few more crosses.
UP THE SADDLERS
Earing is a good player when he’s fit thats the issue with him definitely has ability does have age on his side though he’s still only 24
Very good performance yesterday by the whole team.
Only downside for us is the McEntee injury, he will be a big miss Friday against a strong Wrexham side.
Hope we play exactly the same way as we did against Crewe and MS doesn’t set us up differently and sit back and give Wrexham too much respect and time on the ball. We need to be playing two up front at home and give the away side something to think about, ps … still don’t see why we never leave anyone on the half way line when the opposition have corners by the way.
We have shown on a few occasions,
like Crewe, like County second half, when we press and play attacking football we can do some damage and compete with any side in this league.
If we lose, i would rather we lose trying to play attacking football, rather than sitting back and just hoofing it out constantly for wave after wave of pressure from them, we all know we will always cave in and concede when we play like that, as do most teams.
If we are to move up the league we must maintain how we are playing atm.
I hope yesterday convinces Sadler what most of us know . Mcentee is a very good centre half at this level and this is where he needs to play!
It allows you to play a more creative midfielder in the 3 ie Hutchison who I thought was much better back centrally .
Still think it’s gonna be a tricky transfer window as sounds like draper is being recalled and with the uncertainty over Johnson we will need some reinforcements
The recent results have taken the pressure off Sadler for a little while !
Amazing that such a solid performance came when we played a team with no weak links .
Okagbue always has a mistake or two in him . By him being injured and forcing Sadlers hand we got a vastly improved defence AND midfield , with Mcentee at the back and space for Hutchison .
Hope Sadler took note
Good performance and made a playoff chasing team look fairly poor. There is a top half team struggling to get out of this squad if Sadler plays them in their best positions.
It would be well worth the money if we actually paid a specialist wing coach to take Gordon & Knowles to one side, and teach them a trick to get past that last defender and and put a cross in somewhere between the 6yrd box and penalty spot away from the keeper.
Hopefully will improve with time Sid.
It’s sad that it’s letting us down time after time, just like Jackson Smith flapping at every cross,it should be used as an incentive, if he starts catching crosses he can keep the number 1 shirt, if not put him back on the bench.
Always knew you had a “softer side” you pussycat you
A couple more good points from yesterday were that there were far fewer unforced errors and that we started the game a little better than usual.
You missed the greatest of them all
William Shatner
There are also countless things you think Americans invented that actually turned out to be Canadian.
Canada - So much more than Ice and Beer
Remember it’s a battle of Canadian pride and Reynolds is from wishy washy Vancouver where a cold winter’s day is -2 , our Bennie Boy is from the Maritimes where snow is snow and Ice Berg’s flow past your front door down the St Lawrence and you know the rest… There are Canadians in the house Friday night and the East always wins this battle one way or another.
Well Canada is really big…
Don’t forget Terrance & Philip.
