W 2-0 vs Crewe Alexandra (H) - League Two - Tue 26th Dec, 3pm

Thought that was a decent and quite entertaining first half.

Just had a look at the table. Hadn’t realised how grim things were looking for Salford. What a shame.

To be fair, if we’d have been on the other side of that half I’d be fuming.

We could have easily scored 2 more, their only shot on target was a tame free kick and half time couldn’t come quick enough for them.

You can’t ask for much more, another goal would have been great but if we’d played like that all season, we’d be in the top 10 comfortably now and I wouldn’t have spent the last few months calling for a change of manager.

Enjoyed the last 30 minutes. Think we’ve been the better side overall. Really hope we don’t go into our Shells and try and defend a one goal lead

Gordon, Matt Draper and Knowles have been good. Just wish Tommys final ball was better.

He was channelling his inner Chris Marsh earlier with a stepover and flick.

Much better. Extra forward thinking player making a lot of difference.

Still can’t see us keeping a clean sheet so need to keep pressing forward as much as that will compromise Sadler’s instinct.

Their margin over FGR is 4 points, but FGR do have a game in hand…

A good first half performance. Who would have thought that Osin woukd make a good CB :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:. Midfield looks better with Hutch back there for a bit of creativity. Just hope we dont regret not making more of our possession and first half pressure.

Crewe will have to come and push out more 2nd half so could open up gaps at the back for us. Need to make sure that we take advantage of it.

FGR are really crap this year, aren’t they? Didn’t see the bore draw we had with them.

Think Deeney might indeed turn things round but they looked bloomin awful recently…

Ya never know Sadler might even bring on DJ to make a difference up front…89th minute?

No team changes to start the 2nd half.

I think we did a good job of containing Crewe who are a quick, lively side.
Hutch seems to be back on form, he was very unlucky to hit the bar with a thunderous shot that the keeper would have no chance to get near.
Knowles has done well on the right, but his crossing still leads a lot to be desired.
The priest at the back has been immense, nobody is going to get past him the way he’s playing.
If we can sustain the tempo, we should cruise †o an easy victory

6pts off play offs, crazy

Anyone listening/watching on ifollow agree we have finally found DJTs best position

He’s been pretty impressive so far

Only watching on the Ifollow today due to a nasty cold. No sound and rowdy kids made it difficult to watch properly but seemed like one of the better halfs we have played this season.

I don’t like 3 at the back at all but it does appear to suit this set of players better. Daniels far more comfortable, despite popping up in all kinds of random places on the pitch.

Let’s see it through now, or who knows, even put a game to bed early.

Wouldn’t that be good, just like the old days when we used to win at home…

FGR still 0-2 up at Newport, but down to 10 men (2 yellow cards for Jones, 51 min)

Notts County 3 Doncaster Rovers 0 (53 min)

Salford City 1 Tranmere Rovers 3 (55 min)

Harrogate 0 Accrington Stanley 1 (57 min)

Barrow 2 Stockport County 2 (54 min)

Attendance 5,672, including 807 away. Home support not much better than the average. I guess all the floaters have chosen to watch Hollywood FC on Friday.

Salford seemed to go to pieces when they sold that lad to the Baggies, never recovered since.
