W 2-1 vs Accrington Stanley (H) - League Two - Tue 27th Feb, 7:45pm

Yeah as long as the referee inspecting realises that the pitch will only improve throughout the day with the temperatures rising a few degrees

Did you copy and paste this from last season?

Photo I’ve seen of the away end penalty area I’d say it’s 50/50. Doesn’t look as though the sun has been on it at all for the past few days.

Perhaps some of us on here (no one in particular ) could go early and direct a lot of hot air onto the problem area :slightly_smiling_face:

It doesn’t get any sun even in the summer. Just the way the stadium is. Tricky getting that defrosted.

I remember seeing the costs of running under soil heating, I’m sure it runs into thousands of pounds for one night.

2 grand a day i read somewhere.

Bet it’s twice that now with the costs of gaz and lecky as they are …

The installation of such things is the real cost for clubs at our level, just not worth it to save a couple of games a year.

Those heat lamps things some clubs use are also astronomically expensive, and when its cold, not always available to every club who wants them.

Yes I see Lincoln are using those, never heard of them.

They are rented. So i imagine its a good business to be in this time of year.

They have to make their money in the space of about 3 months, because they just gather dust for the other 9

Could pipe the free heating in from the hotel next door

What about those heat balloons some use , hot air blown under the covers , I’d imagine a few hours before kick off would sort the pitch out

There was a pic of a couple on our pitch earlier this week. If you drive past villa park at night even from the m6 you can see the glow from them they’re in rows on wheels
