Everton Andy was talking absolute bollocks as well then. Pretty standard crowd for a Tuesday night against Oldham but hey, would have been one more if you were there. Maybe when you bother going you can whinge about attendances.
You have to be stronger than that, it’s not luck. When a keeper commits he has to collect the ball, it’s a judgement based on what’s around you and the significant advantage you have over your opposition and your own players. That’s not luck at all.
Or ‘audiences’
Ooops, I’d forgotten for a minute there… el_nombre has declared it so and so it shall be
I only pop on briefly at work and skim read mate so sometimes I don’t read properly .If I was a betting man I’d wager that your in attendance Saturday?
I don’t think you’d get very long odds on me being there for for any match.
We took 329 to BP this season.
you’re right, it is
It was a perfectly respectful response but it’s a shame you had to make it personal for some reason.
Was Maik Taylor any good at crosses?
We need a proper lower league keeper imo.
Ince was the perfect league 2 keeper.
Most goals at this level are long balls crosses and set pieces not well worked play with shots into the corners , first time accurate efforts or well worked moves requiring the concentration and flexibility of a high league keeper
A proper commanding leader 6’4 keeper who can push the fattest cook aside is what league 2 needs
For all Rusworth a plus points he has really struggled with a lot of what this league is about
Are you for real? Is he for real anyone know? Is it just full of these trolls on here now?
Totally agree with you mate. An average shot stopper but somebody who takes crosses comfortably is all you need at this level.
I’d guess that most L2 teams score a great amount of their goals from lumping the ball into the box.
Us on the other hand defy this logic.
Corners and free kicks are mostly totally ineffective. With the height in our defence we should be scoring a lot more from headers at set pieces.
Maik Taylor was superb in every area and I thought never got the chance he deserved at a bigger club than Blues or Fulham in the prem. It isn’t easy to teach your craft though.
When did I whinge? I just stated what the person said who took my place as I couldn’t make it, no need to get so defensive.
There were though more than third less home supporters in attendance than there was on Saturday and given our good recent form I think it is a tad dissapointing.
Defensive? That’s not the same as being dismissive, which is what I was of your whinging or whatever you want to call it.
I addressed the attendance on Saturday in the same comment, and why we might get fewer on a Tuesday and why it’s to be expected. Reading is your friend.
Of course we would get fewer midweeks are less attractive and we had a freebie offer on Saturday but for the attendance to drop by more than third in numbers of home fans was slightly dissapointing, would have been nice if we could have encouraged a few more of those from Saturday back. I did note that the person who took my place stated the few who were in attendance did give the team their full support and that is to be commended.
And, like I said, I explained why it wasn’t disappointing at all and why it would be expected. You’re just repeating the same points now without adding anything other than “yeah but my mate said”.
My mind may be playing tricks, but has that always been the case? In the Fellows Park days, there were fans from other WM teams used to come along and there was always a great atmosphere - the lighting gave more a sense of theatre.
That’s my recollection as well
I can still smell the pipe and cigar smoke from Fellows park, for some reason it was stronger at night games. I really loved night games at Fellows park.
