Sadler said he’ll be back in training today.
How many ticket have Stockport sold ?
Not seen a number but you can see from their online ticket sales on their website how many seats are greyed out. Not going to count them but can’t be any more than 4/500.
Orange seats are available.
Assuming the 2 blocks on the left have not been made available as yet, I counted up the grey seats (sold) and total is 539 sold so far.
I read this and a couple of other comments from so called experts on all EFL matters and we are given no chance whatsoever, every single ‘expert’ have Stockport down as an easy 3 pointer!
Can’t say I believe it will be THAT easy, would love to stick it to 'em, serve 'em right for being sooo confident of beating little old Worsul!
Can’t wait for DJ to go three games without a goal and see who’s calling for him to be left out.
Strange thing to wish for
I know what you are getting at of course.
Hutch had one poor game along with most of the others. The harder he tried the worse it seemed to get, all players have those games. He will be a big player for us again no doubt this season. In fact, I think he will be better than last season with a year’s experience behind him and a style of football that doesn’t have the ball going over his head most of the game.
When you have a player like Hutch who undoubtedly has a lot of ability he definitely need the players around him to give him the ball in the right areas were he can be most affected if that doesn’t happen and he has to go looking for ball in areas he should not be in he can look poor and ineffective.the more the team come together the more he’ll shine .ludicrous to suggest dropping him after one game .
Only started training today so it’s come to soon maybe next week but nice sensible question and don’t rise to the cs bait
Hutch last season was the best of a bad lot at taking the ball forward. He looked good partly because of a lack of quality around him.
Are we any better this season? I did not see much evidence of improvement in the side that started at Morecambe; and the match at Blackburn was an example of our players raising their game against higher class opposition. We did so against Leicester, but that excellent performance was followed by a terrible run. We played really well against Villa, but then reverted to normal for the other friendlies.
I am surprised how much optimism and positivity there is on this board, considering we have only won 2 of our last 26 matches, and only won 1 of the 5 since Sadler has been in charge. Is there now a majority of Happy Clappers?
Hutch is a luxury player and when he’s on it he could play at any club in this league and possibly the league above but when he isn’t on it, it’s like playing with 10 men that’s the issue. Certain players the manager will always play regardless and he’s 1 of those type of players and it does become frustrating. I would have pulled him off at morecambe that’s for sure. He starts on Saturday for me but after half hour you will know if he’s on it or not. It’s the same discussing here you have with England with Kane and sterling when they’re both having stinkers but Southgate won’t drop them.
Hutchinson was undoubtedly poor on Saturday against Morecambe and his off days will likely stand out more than others simply because we’re relying on him to orchestrate our attacking play.
It’s tough, but in his position and role he can’t afford to have too many games like Morecambe, because it disrupts the rest of the team. Unfortunately, he’s not going be judged in the same way that others players are, because naturally they can be more inconsistent and still have an impact on the game. Johnson can go 89 minutes without touching the ball, as long as he’s alive to the one chance he might get. Hutch can’t be drifting in and out of games like he did on Saturday and on many occasions last season.
The good thing is that we have a viable option in Tierney to replace him either in games or to give him a rest, which simply wasn’t possible last season.
I do believe though, that he has the ability to be a really influential player at this level and once everything settles down we will see much a more consistent performance level from him and some of the other attacking players aswell.
The problem with people thinking if he’s not on it after an hour you can lose patience and hook him and you will miss out on things like the winner v Crawley at Home, the equaliser v Sutton at home, the last minute winner v Carlisle in the FA cup all of which came late on in games that he wasn’t looking like anything going to happen and he hadn’t played outstandingly well.
As with DJ it takes one moment.
For some reason we judge all his performances against the top end of his game and as such anything below that is deemed rubbish. It’s mad.
As Danny Blanchflower once said……”luxury player? It’s the bad players who are a bloody luxury!”
Johnson does press and works hard up top. hutch doesn’t close down and he can’t tackle. Which means he’s got to look after the ball better ( when’s he’s having an off day) and get us up the pitch when we’re in possession otherwise we get totally dominated in the middle. That counter attack at morecambe when he just passed the ball back to nobody was unbelievable
Have no idea what you’re on about here? What minute was it so I can take a look?
Also Sadler has praised several times (as did Flynn) the pressing that he does from the no 8 position. I’d bet my mortgage he tops or near tops the running stats most weeks. I said last season, you have to watch him to appreciate the leg work he does.
Agree he can’t tackle though….but then most of the players I know who can tackle can’t pick a pass or score a goal….if he was blessed with all attributes he wouldn’t still be with us…
I agree with all of that CS, I think the difference this year is that we tentatively seem to have another player in the same position who can hopefully produce those moments.
Oh he runs around but they pass around him he like he isn’t there. Midway thru the second half at morecambe. Johnson gave him the ball we had 2 players in the box and he passed it back to nobody and straight to their defender. You can’t defend that.
I know what you’re saying but he was poor v Morecambe.
Hopefully will come good on Saturday.
Ah yes i remember.
Similar to the ball Foulkes played Tuesday but no one had made the run to support the edge of the box.
It’s a ball that’s played without looking in those areas because you put it into a spot where someone should be and like you’ve practiced all week….
Personally I’d prefer him on those situations to be positive and have a go himself so I get that it looked bad, but that was just synonymous of the performance by the team as a whole….not really that connected and people not really doing their jobs all round the pitch.
