W 3-0 vs Morecambe (H) - League Two - Tue 20th Feb, 7:45pm

What a professional performance done the basics well kept our shape superbly in and out of possession considering the average age of the team that is quite an achievement and shows how well drilled they are.

Hopefully Sadler can now get some credit and backing from the fans. Its clear the players are buying into to Sadler’s management.

Ged Brannan - “we’re a better team than Walsall tonight”

Must have watched a different game to me

Couldn’t help laugh when the supporters started singing Sadler give us a wave :see_no_evil:

It’s a big ask. It is easy to look at the table and think it is only 3 points outside the playoffs, but you have to remain very consistent to overturn all those teams above.

I don’t expect us to do it, I just wanted to see a bit of something to give us some hope. Tonight was the most complete performance of the season for me. I won’t be judging the season on if we make top 7. Be nice to keep the season alive a bit longer though.

Once again injuries leave us stumbling on something pretty good. The back 3 “kids” were exceptional, delighted for Taylor Allen as he is a quality footballer and has had to wait for this chance and now has given MS a real headache when DD is fit again. I have been an open critic of Sadlers use of substitutions this season but tonight I think he made some great calls… Comley was walking a red card tightrope… Jack n Stirk together was really positive and then two new front men late on to keep Morecambe on edge. Credit where credit is due. This was a great performance across the board… onto Harrogate with confidence starting to build

It is a big ask but a few more performances like the last two and most fans will be happier matter where we finish. If we finish near the play offs that should give us confidence for the future.

Good job we don’t have VAR they’d have disallowed Matt’s goal for Jacko being outside his box when he cleared the ball.

Looked like he was inside when he threw the ball forward, outside when he kicked it, which is fine.

That GED Brannan interview is one of the funniest things I have seen, the guy is a joke and clearly watches a different game to the rest of us … what a sore loser … “calm down, calm down”

Jamma,s tug on the arm of the defender for the 3rd goal…

Really enjoyed the whole evening. Including my hour in the locker.

The game was good. They looked better than us in possession before our first goal. But once we scored we were brilliant. Including defensively. I think Dave has been a complete revelation in Daniels’ absence and there were some huge “bodies on the line” blocks in the first half.

Lovely. Still 16th. It’s ours to lose now.

Good performance from us tonight. I was most pleased by the clean sheet. Can’t remember Jacko having to do too much.

Jamma shades it for motm for me. What a turnaround. He might be worth a punt for next season at this rate.

Sadler got his tactics and subs right. Still in With an outside shot of the playoffs. UTS.

Much like Saturday, it was a real team performance. I can’t remember the last time that we’ve looked so comfortable without having to get out of first gear. I thought Morecambe actually knocked it about pretty well but were toothless up front which is where Matt made all the difference for us in both boxes. His strength, physicality and nous create space for others by him just being there. Adegboyega has netted twice now due to defenders wanting to wrestle Matt rather than actually defend (although I’d be fuming if our third was against us)

Hutchinson was brilliant in the first half, you can tell
In the first ten minutes of a game if he’s going to be in it or not. He is starting to be more consistent too, there are far more 7/10’s now rather than a mix of 5-6/10s and 8/10’s.

Tierney was also excellent in that first half. That number 8 role next to Hutch suits him far more than the 10. He’s a really tidy footballer who I’d be happy for us to try and keep. What’s gone against him recently is that he isn’t Jack Earing

Dave was impressive in the centre of the back 3, another who I’d be looking to keep if there were a chance. If they were all fit then we’d be stacked with quality at the back, something that we’ll need if persisting with the back three

There were some intelligent changes made by Sadler too, far more proactive tonight which is good to see

Before the game I was concerned that this Tuesday Saturday run would catch up with us but what a great performance from the entire team.
Matt was incredible tonight and for me was motm in fairness Dave and Manny were magnificent as well.
Since they put the armband on Jamma he’s become a fantastic leader and considering people were booing him not so long ago he’s everywhere, defending, scoring holding the ball up, he’s tremendous at the moment and given his answer in the right way.
I thought Morecambe were very physical but we held firm and for the life of me I can’t see how their manager can possibly think the best team lost.
