If anyone wants to see that knob Brannan.

Absolutely cuckoo “we were the better team” :joy:

Love seeing players like Jamma rekindle the fire.

Fair play to him, class last night :clap:t2:

As is common with these post match interviews, he wasn’t talking to us or even to Morecambe fans. That’s a team talk for Saturday. They’re on a good run, no point getting down about one game.

He should watch the brief highlights posted above. Despite some pretty midfield patterns that barely laid a glove on us.

Agreed…yet the BBC stats show hey had 16 shots! I can remember 3 or 4 going miles over the bar but 16!!! Other than dealing corners and free kicks Smith and co had little to do.

There were some awesome blocks in the first half.

The fearlessness of youth.

The very definition of “bodies on the line” stuff.

We need to take the cofidence built up over the last 2 games into Saturday.
Harrowgate won’t be looking forward to this one.
Last 2 games have proved we have very capable player’s just need putting in their right places removing and replacing on the pitch when necessary.

They had a chance in the first half very similar to Tierney’s. The difference? Our defenders put everything on the line to keep it out.

A fantastic result and an enjoyable night down the Bescot last night. First time in a while that we looked comfortable on the ball, and Jamma was the main man last night and he’s becoming the player that we expected him to be, and him being captain the last two games has made a difference to the squad. That defence with Dave, Allen and Manny was solid. Fingers crossed that this result will make a positive difference to our play offs push.

A great result against a good Morecambe side. Sometimes enforced changes results in you stumbling across a better system with other players playing better in it and that seems to have happened tonight.
Three things I really liked about tonight:

  1. there was no aimless passing side to side which we normally do. Almost all goal kicks went long and then when we won the resulting breaking ball we had possession in their half and moved forward. Normally we just slow it down and let the opposition recover their shape.
  2. the number of times we blocked crosses and shots. This is something we simply have never bothered to do all season.
  3. the amount of times we got the ball into the box early rather than just stopping and taking the momentum out of the attack. Get the ball in and then it is the forwards job to get on the end of it. Matts goal is the perfect example of this.
It just felt like a more simpler but more effective style of football tonight which I personally much prefer. The game has become unnecessarily far too complicated.
We do not seem to have missed Daniels at all at the back although it is of course only 2 games he has not played.
    UP THE SADDLERS

Wow he’s an absolute tool. The highlights and the scoreline disagree with his comments massively. What planet was he watching the game from?

As @P.T mentions further up the thread he was giving a team talk for their next match because he can’t possibly believe Walsall were second best. That goal Matt scored was a brilliant moment of instinct yet he’s making out it was more luck than anything.

Noticed that Freddie Draper put a picture of Ross Tierney up on his social media last night.

Currently can’t even get into the matchday squad at Lincoln, shame :pensive:

Edit: He’s injured

Blokes delusional.

I’m glad play-off talk is actually quite restrained on here and elsewhere.

It is very unlikely. But the fact we might go into March with it being a possibility is a rare ray of light.

Some of you have told me not to be miserable and that hopes and dreams are brilliant to have. Which is true.

The challenge for us is in a fourteen match “mini season” we need to finish top of a ten team “mini league” from a starting position behind the other nine clubs. It’s an ask but that’s it is possible is refreshing.

I enjoyed the game last night and as a centre back in my younger days i was thrilled by the performance of the back 3. I love watching defences in action. Yes, im strange…

Big Dave rose to the challenge of not having any seniors around and really controlled the whole unit last night. They were tight, compact and central which was great to watch.

The young lad Adegboyega showed maturity way beyond his years and really contributed to that defensive unit by keeping Knowles in check. They had a big threat in their wide player and whenever Knowles drifted out of position Ade had the balls to direct him where he should be. So much so that i thought Knowlsey had a good game.

As for Jamma. He just takes defenders out the game. He must be a nightmare to play against. Lets hope he can stay fit and injury free for the rest of the season.

I agree with what you said about manny and knowles but I think the same can be said about gordon and allen he tried to overlap gordon at times and is delivery is probably the best at the club I’d play him all the time if jamma is in the team but to be fair think he’s stepped up to the plate could become a much better player if he gets a run in the team

An excellent way of looking at it & shows that it’s not impossible but won’t be easy. We need to have a VG run-in but you’d back a few of the others to do so as well. At least for the time being it is now a possibility.

I’m hoping we can remain competitive in every game we play until the end of the season, can establish a style and reputation and that fans can be entertained and optimistic.
