W 3-1 vs Mansfield Town (H) - League Two - Sat 11th Sept, 3pm

We’ve lost a lot of matches ,or failed miserably to beat teams that weren’t good enough over the past few years so I don’t think it really matters…Mansfield clearly weren’t good enough, but we beat them easily… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wasn’t at the game. Credit to all involved. Fantastic performance & result. Might be time to lump on. UTS. More of the same please.

Great hard working spirited performance ,If this run continues let’s hope we have the strength in depth to see us thru the winter as there will be injuries and suspensions .
That would be my only concern if we start to gain momentum

Gutted to have had to miss out on this one (Master’s graduation got in the way, you’d have thought the University planners would have at least waited until the fixture release!) but how wonderful it is to hear the Bescot roar on those highlights. I’d go so far as to say that’s the loudest I’ve heard our fans celebrate at home in a a good long while, even pre-lockdown.

Well done boys, great win and also great to listen to Misery Clough bemoaning his side again, can’t be doing him many favours ragging his players publicly in the media week in, week out, regardless of whether Stags fans think they need it or not. He might be a contender for an early managerial casualty if he’s not careful.

UTS!

Oh that roar when the 3rd went in on the highlights oh that roar!! Gave me goosebumps you mouthy lot  I just remember I was on the way back to the middle from the stadium suite watched it unfold in the walkway and when he slotted it home I grabbed a bloke with glasses next to me we jumped up and down together with our arms round each other’s shoulders I don’t think I’ve had many other moments or days like that recently being a Walsall fan it’s what I live for and until I die will always love this club what a day Matty Taylor what a day and Thankyou.

Mansfield have invested heavily over the past few seasons, I think it would be unfair to just put the win down to them being poor.

We ripped them a bloody part Maz is what we did some of our play was neat and tidy but we also learnt very quickly that a ball over them or around them caused them problems I could not believe we only had 39% possession nobody I was with could understand it they all said surely we had more than that.

Be interesting to see what happens when Labadie comes back because I’d play like we did yesterday at home but with Kinsella and Labadie away from home.

Up to 16th, just 3 points off the play offs, and (depending on the result of Newport’s catch-up game against Northampton on Tuesday) next week we could be playing a team below us in the league table for the first time this season!

After that yesterday I’m seriously considering the 2hr 10 mins to Newport

I will never go back there other than for a play-off game. Much the same with Bradford.

What are the problems? They must be bad to make it worse than Somerton Park.

I came out the savoy just at the right time to see George slot it home and you’re right about the roar Fantastic

I’ve just watched the highlights and it’s made me feel happy all over again.
What a roar when the 3rd goal went in - that Miller, he’s like a proper striker aye ee!

Beat me to it mate yes how come Rob?

Might sound mad but would you agree it was a roar mixed in with a bit of relief after the start of the season we’ve had and the fact 3 goals pretty much seals that game too.

Went the other season on a Tuesday night, 0-0, freezing cold, shit ground, no atmosphere, no shots on target, every drink in the ground was £5 no matter what it was (pints and alcopops) - grim.

Bradford the same, been there a few times and last time we lost 4-0, driving rain, wind whipping through the the stand, minus eight with the windchill.

:joy:

If you weren’t paddling through piss in the toilets, I’d still say it sounds better than Somerton Park.
