W 4-0 vs Hartlepool United (H) - League Two - Sat 30th July, 3pm

I’d get your hat out if I were you, and maybe one of them squeegee ketchup thingies.

He is the answer.

Yep you literally don’t, because like them you havn’t got a clue. Good to see you admitting your were wrong …“dropped” :joy:

Mansfield 0 Johnson 3 all on the same day…just not the “right fit”

Complete domination. Hartlepool manager’s first season in English football management after coming from Cove Rangers. Reading the Hartlepool fans comments it appears they’ve signed a lot of players from north of the border. If Ash Taylor is the standard that is acceptable up there then you know how poor the standard is and it may be we’ve just played a terrible side.

Not that it takes anything away from today as it was a wonderful performance from start to finish. A thoroughly enjoyable watch

Just to add…We had 21 shots on goal today… against their 4…

I don’t even remember them having that many

Please don’t start all this off again and ruin a good thread on a great day!!:wink:

Lets not get carried away after all these are bottom of the league.

That would have taken a fair few games last season and as I’ve already said I know it’s only one game but it’s going to take a monumental balls up for this lot not to finish a top half side.

First time in a very long while, I’m sat at home with a massive Saddlers smile on my face. Full of excitement & optimism.

Gonna soak it up proper. Lump on.

Fair point. :+1:

Nah, he was still dropped, that’s a fact :man_shrugging: Good to see him get three quarters of his league goal tally for them today though.

Problem is, people read facts as criticism when it doesn’t chime with their enthusiasm. When actually they are just … facts.

But I’d rather you didn’t quote Geordies responses to me, I’m having a lovely evening and he’s blocked for reason :+1:

Just caught up with the two hundred and odd posts on the thread and what a pleasure it has been to read the unanimous positivity, the like of which has been scarce over the past few seasons.

Cant really add anything new to the comments already made about the performance , so I’ll just add that me and the missus had a bostin day and here’s to many more like it this season.

He wasn’t, but I hoped you enjoyed today. I certainly did :+1:t2:

UTS

I didn’t actually quote them to you, I was quoting them back to Geordie to try and not ruined the aforementioned lovely evening being had by all, as I said.
Glad you saw lots of positives in our performance today in your post match comments / review and lets hope that it continues, starting with next week at Newport!:+1:

Hello Steve.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I didn’t go.

As I stated a few months ago on another thread, I wasn’t going to renew my season ticket and I didn’t. New majority ownership and new signings failed to spark a change of opinion.

I also said previously that I wasn’t turning my back on the club and would happily return if the consensus was that entertaining football had returned after a long absence.

I fully expected to have changed my mind by today and have felt the urge to attend, but surprisingly I didn’t. As it happened, I had to do some unplanned work at my daughter’s house and couldn’t go anyway.

I am now very much looking forward to reading a match report and all the comments on this thread, which I imagine will make pleasing reading.

I sincerely hope that the result today will become a common and recurring theme for the season.

Hope to see you at a game at some point.

3 points in the bag, 135 left to play for. First target is to get to 50 asap then we can look to kick on from there.

We’ve seen many a false dawn two that spring to mind are the Albion 4/1 and Mersons first game as gaffer in L1 and Leroy Williams and Daryl Taylor looked unstoppable

But also many a promotion push has seen us trounce big standard opposition

Fact is we look like a team with structure and a plan. Squads a bit thin till the injured lads are back.

But haven’t been impressed with recruitment like this since Dean Smith or Colin Lee. Both of whom were shrewed recruiters and team builders

Really enjoyed the game today, what a difference a proper striker makes ! Great performances all round but I thought Hutchinson and Allen-Taylor were the outstanding features today, Clark at the back organised everything and to me is the leader on the pitch. I’m even thinking of going again before Xmas, now that’s something I ain’t contemplated for a long time.
