Does this mean that with new owners, a decent manager, and a decent squad/team (with a striker!) that the expression ‘The Walsall way’ might at last be consigned to the dustbin of history? I certainly hope so…

You would have loved it mate, we actually had a couple of recognised strikers playing up top!! It was an impressive start to the campaign, long may it continue. I might even go to the next home game . Oohs I’ve come over all strange, think I need to sit down and have an orange squash with some ice cubes.
We used to talk about the stayaway’s in JB days.
Wonder how many could be tempted back under the new set up and with success on the pitch.
… and the last Walsall player to score a hat-trick on the opening day of the season was Tony Richards. He also turned out OK.
