In fact, over the 90 minutes, we created more chances and deserved to win but both goals conceded followed from us switching off. For the first, Weir saw the linesman flagging like crazy and stopped long enough for the man to get away. For the second, everybody thought the ball had gone out and stood with their hands in the air. And no one closed down the scorer.
Having said that, their keeper made three fantastic saves. I always reckoned that Weir would be as good as Allen going forward, perhaps not so good at the back.
Great win and four well taken goals!! Could have been more if it wasn’t for Joe Murphy who made some fantastic saves. Tranmere had there moments but UTS!!!
Today’s game wasn’t a disimilar pattern to last season’s match in January-Lowe’s last. Early lead, they fight back, we pull away. The difference from then was probably down a lot to the first half red card in January.
Uncle Albert - What can you say? Easy goal for him to convert for the fourth. Loved that bit at the end of the game with his walking stick…absolutely classic!
Two lovely goals by Weir to put us into the lead, they had most of the possession in the 2nd half and scored via a big defection only for Albert to seek the victory close the the end.
Another three points and keeping things tight with the leaders, exactly where we need to be at this stage of the season.
The respective positions of the #Saddlers and Shrewsbury make me happy. Oooooh Albert Adomah An absolute credit to his profession and one of my top 10 all times Saddlers players in terms of how much enjoyment he has given me. 2 superb strikes from Weir. And superb strikers goal from Kanu. This kid is good. No doubt our season will go tits up when Charlton recall him in January
