Walsall FC to acquire Poundland Bescot Stadium

Possibly , but as most of them state they are WFC die hards but for Bonser, let’s see.

Utter nonsense seen that as well the bloke swooped to buy a freehold he could have let the club have for how much it was but no he wanted it for himself he never saved the club with his own money selling Stuart Rimmer on the cheap did that never him.

Mortgage vs an expense mate - Google the difference

Yes. We are paying to own something, not rent it off the bloke who set everything up to feather his own nest. It’ll take a while, but not as long as throwing money at some selfish guy’s pension fund every week.

Agree Steve. These guys don’t need to do it. Boner was a local bog handle maker who had a MOSSIVE ego. These guys are far more successful and humble.

I wondered why Bonsers brother Robert had a grin on his face instead of a face like a smacked arse when I saw him in sunny blocko yesterday, now I know why. It might make the usually miserable turd a bit happier.

The trouble is him and his gang of cronies never gave anyone else a chance, it was probably done and dusted before anyone had a chance to buy it

It has to be remembered that Bonser gave LP and thus Trivela the option to purchase the freehold. BB even thanked JB in the press conference.

Yes, an essay could be written about how Walsall fc should never have been in that position in the first place, but time to move on. A fresh chapter.

Never forgive. Never forget.

This is very good news. I guess we have to take on trust that Trivela are here for the long haul. Ultimately, they are looking to make money out of Walsall; that does not have to be a problem but, generally, our little club has not been seen as a great money maker. Against that, I suppose Bonser was making money.

Yes, I thought it was a bit distasteful when he thanked Bonser. Even though BB seems to be gaining a good understanding of how much football clubs even of our size mean to fans in England he probably doesn’t know enough of the history to understand how Walsall fans feel about Jeff Bonser and everything that has gone on, so I just put it down to that. Had Pomlett come out with something like that I would have been outraged.

Yes a new chapter, but it will take some time to remove the stain that Jeff Bonser has left.

Very diplomatic. No need to create unnecessary friction.

Now remove all reference to JB from the ground.

Swapped one debt for another mate

Only upside for me is that that robbing parasite is finally out of the picture

The new debt still has to be serviced and for a club, only turning over and 9K operating profit, I still sense that the land Still is and always will be the biggest prize at the fair

Only time will tell mate

“The club is now the owner of the stadium, the Saddlers Club, and the adjoining land”

Can someone define what is the adjoining land?

Indeed! And as @Laundryman mentions above, these guys are in it to make money. They’re not giving WFC any gifts here. IMO, owning the freehold, or having a mechanism in place to do so, makes the club more saleable than previously.
Having said that I’m glad that our “Saviour” is now out of the picture & that WFC can move forward.

That operating profit had just increased substantially as we no longer pay rent. The club is worth substantially more today than it was yesterday.

Businesses are valued on a number of different matrix’s , the most common is as a multiple of EBITDA , As we no longer pay rent the clubs EBITDA has increased substantially, meaning the clubs enterprise value has increased.

There is no negative to this unless the interest rate on the senior debt now secured on the Stadium is at some credit card style interest rate.

This is the best day at the club in a generation, bigger than any promotion or cup upset .

They are definitely in it for the money at some point, but I do think that will be via making the club a vastly improved proposition for prospective buyers, both through having tangible assets, being a true money making venture, and being in a higher division.

They are definitely no small time Glazers, they wouldn’t engage with the fans and the community, nor seek to improve the experience and infrastructure, otherwise.

My only reservation is that we will become a much more attractive proposition for the wrong type of people in the future, ones that could easily strip our assets away again.

I agree especially with your last point. That is my biggest worry about this. Boycott appears to be a genuine sort of guy and I hope he is here for the long term.
