Didn’t see it when I walked past there yesterday - but it had been thee so long that it became one of those things that you stop noticing after a while.

BTW Re the setup of the bars in the Stadium Suite. We’ve been in the stadium for 30+ years but the SS was only added in 2002/3(?) when we extended the home end so only been there 20 years tops. For most of that time it was solely for those in the middle and upper, it was only with the closure of the Supporters Club (5 years now?) that they allowed anyone in and it became an issue.

Because that period also coincided with a decline on the playing side and thus attendances, it’s not every game (or even a majority) where it is an issue. And it doesn’t sound like it causes any problems with conferences, events and hire-outs. So we are talking less than 50% of home games per season where the norm is not good enough, so if we catered for worst case scenario at every game it would mostly be overkill. Is it possible to target special measures only at particular games where we expect numbers to be a bit higher and we need to get a higher throughput?

That’s only about the setup, not the stocking which is a separate issue that needs looking at. Keg beer has a lot longer shelf life than cask, especially when it’s still unopened, so the only issue can be storage space since you don’t have to have just-in-time stock levels. Ditto frozen or long shelf life catering items (assuming that we have these and not just fresh/once-opened-must-be-used-within-days?) - the only issue being whether they can be cooked from frozen on-demand or need several hours defrost first. Surely there is enough empty storage space around the stadium for unopened barrels and freezers?

Maybe the club should look at giving a specialist catering company the job of running the food catering side of things. They would be incentivised to sell as much grub as they could (they & WFC would take a % of each item sold) whilst carrying the “risk” of what to do with anything that’s left over. It would also be their responsibility to get the staffing levels right.
If they fail then they lose the contract & someone else gets a go.

And save on wages

And better quality food

Pretty sure pies are frozen, and kegs will keep for months  It’s not like it’s all made fresh on site, and they’re tapping casks!!

How Long Does A Keg Stay Fresh?.

The organisation is crap thats from someone who works there trust me unless Boycott and co are made aware of this it will not change and they will keep losing staff that try there best but are hamstrung by the way the club operates. The majority of the bar staff are on zero hours contracts anyway so will soon bugger off.

I sometimes think that they would rather run out than have to throw a few away
If i remember right a few years ago they used to walk round the ground with pies that were left, selling them half price?

Crazy I said exactly the same Saturday when one of the young women walked back towards the kiosk with bottled water.Yes they did mate I remember it well trying to flog the left over pies how we’ve fallen

The days when a tepid £1 balti pie in the 75th minute was available was an important part of my childhood. Magical when it occurred

This still happens at some away grounds selling pies on way out usually £1

yeah it stopped after someone used to buy the whole tray and flog them for a profit

There lies the problem with that idea though. What if everyone then just waits for them to become cheaper? The club would then be competing in a price war against themselves.

In the early days of Bescot when we first had chips, they would just give us the left over chips for nothing at the end of the game

Credit to the club, my dad’s not had a season ticket this year as he’s 86, but was made up this week when he received a signed card from all the players thanking him for his support over the years.

That is a lovely touch. It is a pity that iFollow can’t be (officially) available for people like your dad, who are getting on a bit, or disabled people who find it hard to get along to the match.

Many more performances like Saturday and I think he will want to be there. Its been a while since we’ve seen such a high energy/ high tempo, ruthless performance.

Can anyone else spot what’s wrong with this on the Stevenage eTicketing site - https://www.venuetoolbox.com/stevenagefc/ASP/selectSeat.asp?action=selectConcessionType&eventID={E14B6C1A-B5DA-4388-96AE-B425254884D0}&areaID={2FBB6465-9F3A-4090-8775-BF6A08382C6C}&justAdded=&socialBubbleNumberOfSeats=0&linkedSeats=&=&carParkID={6F9619FF-8B86-D011-B42D-00C04FC964FF}&ticketTypeID={33080903-AFCD-4DF5-A1FE-80CE55153D2C}&layoutID={B1F5178E-CA64-483B-BC88-4EA2EDEC4503}&packageID={6F9619FF-8B86-D011-B42D-00C04FC964FF}&homeArea=home&justRedirected=

Is the cock up down to us or them? And if they are undercharging their fans, who is liable for any shortfall in gate receipts?

To be fair I got in the ground at 2 and got served at 2:40 after immediately joining the queue. It did feel a bit long.
