Walsall Football Club - So Many Issues

Yes, we had them in our club shop when we played them last December. :grimacing:

Embarrassing for our supporters.
I would imagine the charlton fans are embarrassed even more so :joy:

They aren’t huge.

They will hit a wall when they reach the Championship I reckon. It’s fun for them but everyone else doesn’t have to buy into it.

I’d be surprised if a single Walsall fan purchased one of those Walsall/Wrexham scarves.

They were aimed at Wrexham fans wanting to bask in our glory.

Is that right Steve. I saw a photo but thought someone had cleverly combined Wrexham and Walsall scarves in the photo to make it look like a half n half scarf

They definitely had them. I went in the club shop with the kids to ask about one of the retro shirts, they were on sale.

I thought someone had tied two scarves together :joy:

Can’t believe it was real !:flushed:

Wow

They have half and half Walsall/Drogheda in the club shop now.

Not for me but I can at least see some fans being interested, I can’t believe any Walsall fan would want a Walsall/Wrexham scarf. We had a bit of a rivalry going on with them for a while in the early 90s.

I saw a few with my own eyes. They definitely sold some.

I think they had them for their american guests at the game, probably lobbed the left overs in the shop.

A shameless cash in that backfired. Good. They can go on the pile thats been in the shop for 20 years.

Not for me.
There is no way I’ll wear anything claret and blue!
Imagine getting mistaken for a V&ll@ fan…

And yes, I do know that claret and blue were our colours many decades ago.
But that was well before I was born.

I totally agree

There’s a tiny tiny bit of me that gets half and half scarves as a commemorative keepsake of a big occasion. E.g a cup final.

However playing Wrexham isn’t, never was and never will be a big occasion.

For anyone at that.

Why even more so? Do their fans have more pride thsn ours?

1939 I think, and look how that year turned out!

Here is a site about kits.

Absolutely ridiculous if true.

Someone posted it up on Twitter on the night of the Wrexham game and it was confirmed by others who had gone into the shop.
My uncle hates halfy half scarves with a passion, even for cup finals, and we were in the Black Country Arms before the game that night when I showed him the picture from Twitter and he gave such a look of disgust I think it put him off his beer. :joy:

I said at the time that I could see Trivela, being American, bought into the “Welcome to Wrexham” hype and thought it was a good idea. However Pomlett, Gamble and Mole should have been telling them that it was a bad idea that would go down like a bag of sick with English fans.

I can kind of forgive this as they are under the Trivela banner and we’ve started to forge a relationship with our fans going over there. They’re also not direct rivals… except for the Trivela Cup.

I also have one of the Walsall x NoFo half/half scarves which as they’re one of our sponsors and not another football team I think is ok.

Definitely true, I have no reason to lie.

I also saw the Wrexham ones in the shop on the night of the Wrexham game last season.

If you buy a half scarf you really need to take a long look at yourself and reevaluate your entire life.
