Some justification of price increases would be if they are now selling repeat orders, so the price from the manufacturer has gone up.
In the cases highlighted so far, they’ve just increased the margins on items already bought at original cost prices.
Looking at the badge set, the single enamel badges are generally priced at £3.50 each x 6 = £21.00.
At £29.00 for the set, we are being asked to pay £8.00 for a cardboard box.
Add to it, the badges in the set aren’t enamel, just a plastic layer stuck on a metal backing.
It’s called ‘supply and demand’ as will be confirmed by anyone that has studied economics.
What annoys me is that when you go to other grounds, even in the 4th Division, the club shops are always full of exciting stuff in all sizes and at reasonable prices, why can’t we? If not, just shut the shop altogether.
Just typical of our club, that has, during most of my lifetime, lived with second rate failure syndrome that will always be hard to alter.
I bought the Walsall / Black Country badge when I went down for Ryan’s funeral, £2.50 now £3.50. Makes the price for a set of 6 even more extortionate. Always used to stop and look at badge sellers outside whichever ground we were at and got some bosters. Don’t seem to see them outside grounds anymore
My daughter bought me a Christmas mug!! Looks like I am one of the lucky few…perhaps they will become collectors items in the years to come. Not daft is she?
More seriously what is happening is what happens when you get into an inflationary spiral.People profiteer and the way to deal with it is simply don’t buy the stuff that is overpriced. The price will then come down or they will be left with a lot of unsold stock.
Let’s just hope it is less than the 200% per year that Boner was pulling in on his investment.
If this is the start of trivelas americanising and make there money back master plan I am starting to worry
These prince increases are way above inflation and scream milk the fans to me
The club is charging Adidas and Nike prices for products produced by Errea, its a cheap brand.
The thing with those footballs is I’ve seen identical ones with the EFL logo being sold on the official Puma site for £15. You can even get Puma footballs with Man City or Borussia Dortmund branding for £22.
Yet the club they think they can sell theirs for £29.50.
I’ve got the exact ball signed by 21/22 squad, free to anyone who wants it!
The post covid increase in attendances will plateau off at some point. All clubs had an increase. The only way to maintain that is to offer a high quality entertaining product. Enough said. So if Boycott is taking the current 5k plus attendances for granted then he’s gonna be severely disappointed at some point.

What sort of retail price point is £16.50
It’s clear someone has gone to a trade fair & just lobbed our logo on a load of generic tat & added a very big mark up.
It’s basic retail common sense, that isn’t being applied here. It’s Embarrassing. It’s not just a revenue stream or kids tat shop; it’s all part of our brand. Even Bath City have better merch. Shop has improved but it’s still cack.
They’ve even got the Xmas tat mixed in with the other tat.
The irony that we are sponsored be Poundland and yet there doesn’t appear to be anything for a pound & most of this stuff wouldn’t get sold in Poundland.
Please Trivela don’t let Whalley go shopping again
Have they got WFC branded poo bags too?
I can see a hole in the market here. We could make a mint, if they had a decent choice.
Sweatshirt looks like a Fruit of the Loom with a Walsall badge stuck on
Boycott markup 800 %
It also doesn’t look navy
Seems like the Trivela sales strategy is to buy any old shit and simply sow a Walsall badge on it. Then quadruple the price.
