Even they wouldn’t pay what Radford was asking for him.
I remember seeing a ‘Torquay Reds’ minibus on the motorway once. It baffled me. If you’re so proud of being from Torquay why don’t you support them?!
add these cowboys to the list.
Mansfield can be added to mine
I remember Me , @Yorkred and a few other lads chasing a car load of the gobby bastards back in the 80’s
We thought we had cornered them on an estate and blocked the road with my mates car
Only to see them drive past us down the road giving us the fingers
And here is another reason to hate greedy rule breaking clubs, but the punishments do not fit the crime
Demote the bastards and make em start from the bottom, maybe they will learn what fair play actually means
They need to be found guilty first @chunkster .
Remember they wriggled out of the UEFA charges the other year, it’s amazing what the best lawyers in the world can do.
I think their legal squad might be even bigger than their playing squad.
Can’t see the PL wanting to damage their brand much either.
I’ve got theory on FFP. I don’t mind them spending it’s the livleyhoods they put at risk that’s the problem for me.
Should an owner wish to flaunt the FFP rules. A bond type payment should sit with the Football Association and it should guarantee that club can pay all salaries staff till the end of the said season as well as its mortgage / rent. Etc. if you can’t afford ths bond stay in the budget
The interest generated from thst sitting in an account should be ploughed in to grassroots pitches up and down the country
Can’t see it happening.
Saw this on eBay.
The description reads as follows.
Shrewsbury Town 95-97 Home Shirt Large MG Sportswear. Badge damaged by Walsall.
I bought this shirt from a seller based in the Black Country who told me that this shirt had been put on an inflatable sheep when Walsall played at the New Meadow!
The shirt is in very good condition for it’s age apart from the club crest which is damaged.
Is the inflatable sheep available? Asking for a friend.
I never understand why, in “we are the pride of the Midlands” chant, people say and Leeds??? Ey? Why?
Should be a revision to include Vale and Slops!
From memory when we first started singing the Pride of the Midlands song, the “and Leeds” bit wasn’t included.
I think I am right in saying it was added at a time when we played Leeds a few times over a few years. By a poster who used to post on UTS called Percie and possibly @Thanatos who may be able to shed more light on it. Or maybe I just dreamed all that !
Not sure we need to change that song as such but some more about Vale and Shrewsbury might be good if and when we get back to playing them on a regular basis. There are always the old classics though. S*** on the Vale and Sheep, Sheep, Sheep s*******. Not forgetting “who put the ball in the Vales net”
Agreed. Thought that on Saturday,
Yep it was Perce
I bumped into Percie in a boozer in Northampton, which was a delight.
I didn’t bump into @Thanatos, which was a delight too.
Only joking Thanny
I’m nostalgic for the good old days when Leeds had their own song, to the choon of The Dambusters - “we all hate Leeds and Leeds and Leeds, all hate Leeds and Leeds and Leeds, all hate Leeds and Leeds, we all foggin hate Leeds…” and repeat. Dirty Leeds didn’t need to be playing in the game, they were so hated that fans everywhere and anywhere would sing it.
Just Mansfield at present. And because I live in Weymouth area… Yeovil!
Some lovely houses around there, but a bastard of a ground to get too
I did that trip to Yeovil when Wracky broke his leg or Colin Miles should I say . As you say not a great accessible ground and a horrible day for a multitude of reasons, but a positive was an overnight stay in Weymouth.
