Wrexham Game

I’m a bit confused by the early ticket announcements for this. It’s Wrexham - not Taylor Swift (who should be a Saddler with a name like that btw).

I don’t know if it’s a security call or if they think there needs a priority system because they genuinely believe that there will be more of a clamour for this from Walsall fans than there was for an FA Cup Third round tie against premier league opposition.

Either way seems odd. In the past when we expect the opposition to have a bigger demand than we have supply then we await the away side to sell their allocation before we impose restrictions on Walsall fans. If they’re worried about the clamour - they’re wrong.

I like that we’re thinking two months ahead but surely the objective should have been to get as many Walsall fans into the ground as possible for both the Crewe and Wrexham games. A couple of Christmas crackers (if you’re really into unmerited hyperbole) that could have been packed together into a lovely (if you allow the word “lovely” to stretch) Christmas gift set. Fifty quid (twenty for kids) - tickets for both Christmas games, programmes, a couple of badges or other merchandise type stuff and you’re away.

Why? It’s Wrexham?

Exactly it’s Wrexham !!!

Sadly there are plenty of those who only turn up for the big games. As most people are unfortunately brainwashed by the MSM they seem to view Wrexham as the new Manchester United or Liverpool.

But allegedly she’s in to buy Notts County not us … :disappointed:

Still bamboozled by the ticket arrangements for this.

Just looked at the ticket site. Barely more sold than for a normal home game. Still swathes of availability.

I don’t know if our owners have brought the hype. But to us Wrexham isn’t and could never be an attractive fixture.

The thing that makes more Walsall fans turn up is our own team. And our own team is pretty rubbish.

Why bamboozled? People around here are not not daft. They know Wrexham is an ordinary 4th division fixture. We may get a few extra folk because it is over the Christmas holiday but with our current form that is unlikely to be many.
If we were going for promotion it would be different but that it is how it has been for decades. Gates at Christmas are generally very good if we are having a good run.

My cousin Lorraine is a bit daft. She wants a ticket on the off chance her celebrity crush is in town. I suspect there will a few more like her.

A mate of mine, not a Walsall fan, tried to buy a ticket but you need booking history. I have got one for him - it does seem some people want to come and see what the Hollywood hype is all about.

Wrexham who?

Bamboozled by the restrictions. No way was it ever going to sell out.

Still some time to the fixture and obviously form has been poor, still think it will be a bumper audience. I expect 7,000+ spectators.

Are you forking about :grinning:

Does he want to see Reynolds or Wrexham?

Certainly not the former.

Huge game tbh
I expect a sell out with many neutral people coming to see Wrexham

It’ll be swelled by Wrexham bringing more than their usual 400 that’s about it. It’s Wrexham ffs they’ll be back to their normal 3.5k at home once the hype dies down
