You can’t make this up

Reading that, they should be ashamed to be involved with us, not vice versa!!

Must say I really can’t see the problem with having Poundland as a sponsor , they are a very successful national company ,it smack’s of inverted snobbery to me .
I believe it’s far more preferable to be associated with a reputable company like Poundland who do actually provide a service to people who need it than to be associated with some far east online betting company that can bring misery to families through the unregulated nature of the business .

I don’t have an issue with this as I spent 7 years working at their head office in Willenhall.
Although the logo/brand looks well dated (not changed since the 90’s) I suppose it sits well on our dated stadium.

Also as @Pingu pointed out, not centrally aligning the 'Proud Supporters of Walsall FC’ is frustrating.

If others want to sneer, let them. I would welcome their support. As I say , they might be able to teach us a thing or two about haggling with other organisations.

Err, what’s the issue here?

Who cares who sponsors us? Plus they’re local (or at least were founded locally).

You really think we’re gonna attract blue-chip sponsors in a black-country backwater playing League 2 football in front of 4000 people?

What like advertising Aston Villa season tickets?

For those with OCD, ‘Proud supporters of Walsall FC’ is on the sign a few times hence why it isn’t above the main entrance.

Christ. The amount of people getting their knickers in a twist over people ‘’moaning’ about this. Think people are just laughing about a club that does everything on the cheap having Poundland as a sponsor, that’s all.

Cheer up everyone it’s Christmas.

Critical question for me is if I show my Poundland Stand season ticket in a Poundland shop will I get a discount?

There was something on the screen last saturday and it said “Poundland - proud supporters of Walsall F C”. I wondered what that was all about. I don’t really have a problem with it.
Can’t imagine they will be too happy having Gary Lidl in the team, could be the end for him.

Should have read the other threads first, he’s already gone.

Probably see Aldibayo on the reduced shelf after Christmas.

Doesnt really bother me but gives ammunition to those wanting to mock the poundland mentality of the club.

Aren’t Poundland opening a new HQ and distribution centre in Walsall? So it makes sense to sponsor the town’s football team. Personally, I have no problem with it. In the transfer market, I aspire for Walsall to shop in Poundland- it’s usually the equivalent of a food bank.

I have no problem with it at all. They have paid some money so good. I shop in there. Been in one today. Go to Aldi. Would have no probs going into Lidl. But that is a bit out of the way. Nowt wrong with the budget outlets. I am no snob.

Homeserve, Banks’s, Poundland and, to a degree, University of Wolverhampton must be one of the most impressive groups of sponsors in the lower leagues.
Like some of you, I pine for the halcyon days of Choice Personnel, Sign Specialists and some dodgy conservatory outfit, but those days are long gone.

I’m no snob I do occasionally go to Poundland . It’s just for me not great to have it splashed over the entrance to the football club just looks tacky.

So what? They’ll mock it anyway.

Don’t think I will lose any sleep over it though…
