AFC Wimbledon (N) - League 2 Play-Off Final, Mon 26th May, 3:01 pm

We will have made enough from the play off games to pay off Sadler’s contract so there is no excuse.

I’m definitely not buying one of those apartments now that he was selling in Birmingham City Centre.

Thank God the season’s over - Signing off for the Summer!!

I cannot believe that from the club..what feckin planet are they on?

Probably upgrade the kitchen in the Locker and put the prices up

Gutted, broken , dejected. Worst season I’ve had.

I always said the ultimate cruelty would be losing out on automatic on the last day of the season. And then defeat at Wembley.

The final betrayal

I’m just happy we got the first train back to Moor Street. Only positive to come from today unfortunately.

The North Korea “don’t blame our dear leader” mindset

Wasn’t meant to be? That’s defeatist, accepting failure and insinuates it was all out of our hands. For so long of this wretched season, it was in our own hands, the complete opposite.

Absolutely gutted.
But this felt inevitable, even after MK.
Honest reaction was “I’m done with them”
But I’ll keep following them.
Something nice is bound to happen to us at some point, right?

Feel similar to how I did after Newport. If the onus is on Walsall to create or show a bit of guile, there’s just nothing there. This has to change next season.

We didn’t actually have to play well to win that. Just competently. We failed even that. Sadler’s redemption depended on us winning at Wembley. I might even have taken an unlucky defeat against a decent team. In the end,we didn’t show up.

Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury here we come.

Zero chance of that with Sadler.

He doesn’t know how to play any other way

Our pressing game has degenerated into a depressing game.

Strikers and loan business continues to undermine any progress at the club

It really is as simple as that

next season is definitely my last unless there’s something drastic, it would be the end for me but for the renewal. I’m annoyed that I believed Sadler was a decent manager and I was wrong but turns out it was a kid from Stoke that was the difference between a lucky manager and a catastrophe. If it weren’t for Lowe we’d be thanking our lucky stars we’re in this league. But the supporters are annoyed cause we weren’t 20 points clear. He needs to go, there was nothing today that made me think we can continue with Sadler. I had low expectations today but fair play to Sadler he exceeded them

I have to agree with you, Ken. I’ve seen Walsall twice at Wembley and both times we’ve been shite! Today was as bad as 2015, and that was cack! We just didn’t strengthen enough in January - we have feck all up front - please put Jamma in retirement! We are just a hit and hope side, with very little creativity. I don’t mind losing, but losing like that is hard to take. I don’t think Sadler will be sacked, but, if he stays, we need a serious injection of cash to get in a decent striker and creative midfielder.

Gutted for my lad, at 14 he has watched absolute shite and that was what they served up to him today.

I’m not arsed, I had zero expectation, I can’t get angry, and I didn’t look like the only one trudging out the stadium. That should be the biggest worry for Trivela, because the apathy and malaise will be setting in again, and that is a bigger killer to a football club than a bit of anger, calling for a manager to be sacked, or protesting outside the front doors of reception!

I’m totally bereft. Don’t even know what we need moving forwards at this moment in time.

I would love to hear some passion and ambition from the club. Not this defeatist “wasn’t meant to be” guff.

After Donny went out of the play offs last season, McCann said anything other than winning the league next year is failure. Fast forward 12 months and that’s what they did.

I can’t fathom the ‘incremental progress’ line that would somehow paint this season as a success. Nope. We threw it away multiple times.

If I hear Sadler say anything about proud of everyone, these are games we want to play in, stick together - I may pull the emergency alarm on this train

I’d like to hear from @CompletelySaddled on this and why we should have any faith in Mat Sadler next season.

This isn’t calling you out mate, but as someone who knows the game - interesting to hear your thoughts.
