D 0-0 vs Alfreton Town (A) - FA Cup Second Round - Tue 5th Dec, 7:45pm

I love your terminology KingCrod, so poetic and funny, please don’t change…

Alfreton used to be in the conference and beat Luton 3-0 when they down were at that level fairly recently - crazy to think about that now - I remember the Luton fans protesting afterwards

So lets not disrespect them with absolute drivel. They’ve had much bigger games in their history.

Have they though? They’ve never reached the FA Cup 3rd round (this is only the 3rd time in their history they’ve reached this far) nor to my knowledge have they had a televised FA Cup game. A plum home draw against a misfiring EFL outfit live on Auntie B. This is a huge game for them make no mistake about it, and one given our recent form they will be relishing.

Hoping for a postponement followed by a plum 3rd round draw. Realising that theres a big payday looming which obviously cant be trusted to Sadler, Trivela temporarily take an interest, appoint an actual manager, and as a result we manage to accindentally swerve non league again. Everyones a winner. :+1: :moneybag: :white_check_mark: :us:

Haha nice pun mate…get it in quick for a certain head coach

I can’t decide whose shoes I’d rather be in, theirs or ours.
You are absolutely correct they will be so up for this especially with our current form.
They have nothing to lose and everything to gain , we on the other hand need to avoid at all costs losing because effectively the season will seem over other than a battle to avoid the unthinkable.
The magic of the cup is great unless you find yourself in our position.
Fingers crossed as far as I’m concerned.

Should Sadler walk away if we don’t win?

When was the last time we were live on BBC1 (not the red button etc.)?

Cant see anything other than a draw, sadly.
How low expectations have fallen.

For those not of faint heart who like a flutter the money has been piling in on Alfreton and we’ve drifted alarmingly out to a best price even money now. That looks outstanding value given our handsome romp in the last round in despatching FC Sheppey. I’ve had a pineapple on Walsall to win and both teams to score. Against Sheppey their player scored with one of the best strikes you will ever see and I can see similar happening on Saturday as their players look to make a name for themselves but if we apply ourselves well we will have too much quality for them.

Aha! I’ve found a photo of Crod

Who are they then? I understand a guy called Byfield once scored quite an important goal for us. But think these three are part of the refreshments team, they most certainly don’t know owt about football!
We probably will beat Alfreton, so our current Mangers job will be safe until our heavy defeat in Nottingham 7 days later…that’s if our splendid ‘new era’ bosses can be *rsed to get in the slightest bit interested in what’s going on in a godforsaken small Black Country town back in England…

This is my first game since the 4-1 win against Colchester due to work. Legless and a good solid win are the order of the day and a massive draw ( Everton / Newcastle away ) next round . I have full faith we will win this but dreading county away the following week. 3-1 douglas James , johnson and Daniels with a bullet header to score the goals

You know in your heart of hearts that if we get past Alfreton we will be drawn away against the likes of Millwall, who will sweep us aside with ease…then we can get back to trying to avoid relegation, hopefully with a new Manager at the helm.

I can see it being called off because of a frozen pitch

Glad im off out for the day and wont be tuning in as im a bit concerned about this one.

As they play on grass and not one of those ridiculous pieces of carpet, it could well be off i guess, but if its on telly they will get it on no doubt.

2-1 defeat.

This was the ground today, the cover is on part of it , looks cold for Friday night and Saturday morning, it’s in the balance.
