Can you get a refund if you can’t make it on Tuesday?
Yes, club have an obligation to provide a refund for those that can’t make it although it’s tough logistically with the short turnaround for the club to process all refunds and sell the returns. I can’t make it nor can the majority of our lot who went up yesterday.
With a Willie Naughton hat-trick, including a diving header. I remember reading in one of the papers that after the headed goal, he resembled a beached whale, which was a bit unfair even given his less than svelte figure.
Willie definitely wasn’t what you’d call an athletic build of a player, but my word he was a good winger…much better than some of the players nowadays. Loved it when we played with proper wingers…I’m sure our strikers loved it too it was never boring watching us then
Without wanting to open a can of worms, a Willie Naughton in his pomp wouldn’t get picked by Sadler today, because of his work rate. But my word, he had some quality and his crossing accuracy was top drawer! I do think that the team still need a player who can deliver a quality set piece. I’m optimistic about Earing and even Maher shows some nice touches, so you never know what a bit of confidence might do!
For what it’s worth, I’d love it if we battered Alfreton because although they’ll be up for it, against a semi professional team, our fitness levels should secure safe passage into round 3.
Alright Kevin calm down my son
I don’t love Sadler but there was something about the Alfreton manager that really got up my nose!
Craig Westcarr played for Alfreton after leaving Walsall. If it goes to a replay could get him to be the half time guest.
Don’t know if there any other players who played for both teams.
Chris Wilder was a cracking loan RB for us (I think he only played a month for us though).
Had a few “run ins” with him over the years with my Whitley Bay hat on. Bridlington in the FA cup a couple of times springs to mind. He’s a character
I remember Bax and Karl Hawley did.
Just had a look and noticed that Chris Westwood and Paul Marshall did as well. Also loan player Tom Curtis.
Richard O’Donnell was loaned to them but not sure that he actually played.
I know he isn’t ex Walsall but didn’t Jordan Pickford play for them when he was a youngster at Sunderland?
Ahh. That explains why he was there yesterday.
Well, I have to thank Walsall for us not getting stuck in the snow in the Lakes. I said I wasn’t going to watch the match and would do our usual Lakes Saturday to Ambleside and Grasmere. We started off in Allonby then decided to go back and watch it after all. We got in, found the match was off so decided to go the Keswick instead due to the time. What a stroke of luck that was because if we had gone to Ambleside we wouldn’t have been able to get back due to the foot of snow that fell so I thank Walsall for keeping us out of the snow.
One motorist said he was stuck for 19 hours without any food or water
Karl Hawley played Alfreton towards the end of his career.
How did he get on with it being 1 vs 11?
It’s crazy up there. We’re back home now.
Any news on how to get your money back? Cant make Tuesday.
