So frustrating. First hour or so we were great. Hutch, DJ, Daniels and Draper all excellent. It’s not like they ever really threw the kitchen sink at us, but we still ended up conceding two and throwing it away. Didn’t want to join the Matt pile-on but he really let us down and we were basically playing with a man less when he came on. If he isn’t fit enough to put a shift in for half and hour and can’t hold the ball at all, what can he do?
The football is more fun to watch than it was under Flynn so far, but if you don’t start picking up results the novelty will wear off. I’m still in the wait and see camp.
As for all the arguing on here, I just don’t get why people can’t handle the fact someone has a different opinion to them about a fourth division football club. I read stuff I disagree with on here all the time, I actually like seeing a range of opinions and don’t feel the need to blow my top if someone thinks different to me. I can’t be the only one who finds it tedious to shift through when looking for reflections on the game.
Yeah, the ball goes into that area, where it could be either the defenders or the goalies. Someone needs to take responsibility to clear it and no-one does. Evans probably should have claimed it and dealt with it.
I’ve been following Walsall home and away over 40 years. For 30 of those years I was almost 100% home and away and for the rest a good 75%. . This isn’t a brag by the way, my own stupidity In reality, it was what I wanted to do.
Over the years how we have been playing, what division we are in and all that have never really been a consideration whether I go or not. I have to admit that last season something changed inside me. I didn’t go to any away games in the last 3rd of last season and skipped a bundle of home games despite having a season ticket. I think years of scars came to the surface, I found myself barely being interested at one point which has never happened in my life.
I obviously still care a lot, but I’m not sure it is the same as it once was. It all feels a bit like rinse and repeat. Hopefully, we will see a bit of something this season to give us hope at least.
Actually I think that’s true of the VAST majority on here .it can appear the “blow my top brigade “ are numerous simply by the amount of posts they put out there. some are just understandable angry .others less said the better .
I have only seen it once but my first thoughts were the keeper should claim the ball.
I saw a few on social media saying we need a new keeper, maybe just post match anger but that is a bit harsh in my opinion. He’s a decent enough keeper I think.
Hopefully Jackson Smith gets another run out Tuesday and puts in a performance to show we have the quality already at the club to give Evans proper competition for the goalkeeper jersey.
If he’s making mistakes then bring in smith for a few games and show him if he isn’t on his game he will be dropped! That’s how it should be for every player.
Negative. If you can’t differentiate between a performance like yesterday and the equivalent game away to Crewe back in April I don’t know why you bother going to game. May as well watch on Ceefax.
Negative feelings in the fact we couldn’t see the game out and the manner and timing of how we lost the 3 points but I have no negativity whatsoever in how we are playing football compared to what we’ve witnessed in the past.I feel as if we actually have something to work with with this lot and I’d rather cut out defensive mistakes than try and teach a team to pass the ball around that’s for sure.
Yeah it was. Believe me Im as annoyed as anyone (cost me 2 points in the prediction league ). Doesn’t mean the rest of the game wasn’t enjoyable. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be positive overall. Doesn’t mean we should surround ourselves in negativity.
I get that and if you look at the table Gillingham are top after only scoring 4 goals and conceding none, don’t you think the football is much more easier on the eye this season and that we have something to work with? IF we can cut out mistakes and manage the game better as the games go by surely this season has the potential to be a better one.
I agree with that but never in his wildest dreams would Sadler have seen Matt put in such a dreadful display.
He hasn’t done much in his previous outings but yesterday he contributed nothing at all.
He did a job against Stockport last week in similar circumstances so Sadler would have expected the same.
Has to be DJT next time as first sub.
Some said he was alright v Stockport, I saw similar to yesterday, admittedly not anywhere near as bad but I mean Sadler must see it in training. I don’t think Matt isn’t trying he is just shot completely.
