To think he was also offered the Leeds job and turned it down, Christ I need to sit down before I fall down
They also entered administration again not long after heād left, and were thrown out of the conference for unpaid debts.
Itās a bit like buying shares when the market is low and bailing out after asset stripping the company.
Itās easy to do well in lower divisions while spending more money than the rest. I rarely wish people ill but what a joy it would be for Vale to go down. Preferably without another point.
He wanted Rory Gaffney. We need say nothing else about him.
Iāve interviewed quite a number of sales people over the years and I learnt to avoid a certain type, of which traits I see in Darrell Clarke.
They interview like Tom Cruise, insisting they are winners, pointing to all of the sales courses they have taken and having a wealth of experience gained over many years.
The reality is very different. The charm turns into arrogance with a complete lack of self awareness. The āknowledgeā acquired at the many sales courses was never put into practice and instead of 10 years of experience, it was 1 years experience, doing the same things year after year. As poor performance is challenged the arrogance turns spiky and defensive. It is the poor sales literature that is the problem; the telesales team are poor and donāt provide enough leads and I didnāt employ them; the product training was substandard; the targets set were too high.
Then of course, they jump ship to a āmuch betterā company who were impressed by the Tom Cruise who turned up at their doorā¦
Donāt blame anyone for āclearing the decksā after the disease ridden mess Keates created. Needed to be done and there always casualties when this happens.
DC was let down by his ābigā signings no question but itās been an absolute nightmare with recruitment.
What surprises me, is the number of Players brought in who look nowhere near the required standard. Hard to understand what made him consider them in the 1st place.
Thatās what I mean by him dragging us down to the standard he usually manages clubs at. Heās a conference manager at best. Vale are lucky he wonāt be recruiting the players. They will just have to put up with his baffling tactics and line ups every week
The facts are he did excellent at Bristol Rovers. The reason why we brought him and why 99% of us welcomed it.
But alot of career success is ācatching lightening in a bottleā and thatās impossible to find again. Vale isnāt working out so hard to see where he goes from here?
Just having a look at the season he got Bristol Rovers up from this league and he only actually drew 7! Like some vortex compared to whatās gone on here. Will have to check back to see what forwards he had there but he obviously did stuff there he hasnāt got close to since that season.
They lost 13 out of 46 so werenāt far off 1 in 3 loss ratio that season but not drawing every other game massively helps.
Darrell Clarke just keeps on giving
if your feeling down or feeling blue just pop over to one of the Burslem/Fail Forums and have a read, cheered me up no end after a shyte day
Think Iām still a member on those from ten years back or more. Might have to there again.
In his pre- Cheltenham interview, DC says " I have left every football club I have managed in a better state " Thoughts ?
Heās delusional.
He is a bloody bare faced liar as well
Heās a ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā . Sort of bloke I wouldnāt ā ā ā ā on if he were in fire. Hope he fails wherever he goes. ā ā ā ā ā .
I mean, we are kind of in a better state than when he first joined.
Weāve just gone from very, very ā ā ā ā to very ā ā ā ā
The bloke is a legend in his own mind.
And a bell end in everybody elses mind.
During his time weāve gone from a clean slate rebuild to needing a clean slate rebuild, except weāre no longer a relegated League One club rather a bang average League Two club.
What a moron.
So he bankrupts one, more or less gets sacked from another, then leaves us in this sorry state.
Few managers if any do what he claims (Dean Smith perhaps) but certainly not him. We are very well to get rid of him. The success of the season.
