Dean Smith and John Terry

Yep, Smith’s record with us is pathetic

You wish!

sawyers was top drawer. Class player

But Smith signed him and developed him?

Developed by Smith. I rest my case.

Glad you fell for that trap.

He fell in my trap. Fantastic.

Yes of course, Sawyers natural talent is down to Smith

Good grief

And I guess Scott Dann is down to Merse

Are you saying Smith had absolutely no input into developing Sawyers?! If so you are completely deluded. Sawyers is an out and out Smith player who loved playing it on the deck. Thought you hated that style?

Sawyers is the only reason either of his teams were ok, cause he’s got a killer pass.

Petard. Hoisted. Own. By. His.

And used by Smith in a way which enhanced his attributes. Sawyers success with Walsall has a lot to do with Smith.

Paul Merson didn’t spot Scott Dann, sign him up, or build a team around him.

Good effort at a strawman though.

Edit: Just looked it up. He played … 1 game under Merse :joy:

Merson has actually admitted he didn’t rate Dann.

You know when you see a debate and just can’t even be bothered to begin to attempt to reason with someone :joy:

His effort on the Boris thread ain’t bad either :rofl:

Villa will only get promoted by luck.
The club and squad is insitiutionally rotten.
I don’t anyone could successfully manage them these days.

They won’t be promoted this season. The players aren’t Smith players. He needs two transfer windows at least.

Whether he gets afforded that is a different matter.

HAHAHA

A good manager would have them up this season

Get his excuses in for him early though

:+1:

I thought that at the start of the season. Then I watched Glenn Whelan play playmaker and James Chester play ball playing centre half and Tammy Abraham play … bambi on ice.

It’s not an excuse, if he gets that time, like most managers need, and doesn’t manage it then he’s failed there, no argument.

He’s still succeeded at Brentford and Walsall though. You’re obsession is weird. Did he ■■■■ your wife or something?

Having watched the Villa game on Friday I’d say Smith will need at least two transfer windows before he can get a team together capable of playing his style of football.

Grealish, McGinn and Hourihane aside they seem an ageing team incapable of maintaining any kind of incisive passing tempo. Wish him well, but he’s got a big job on his hands.
