We should be challenging for the play offs if we’re to show improvement on last year, I personally think mid table though.

I’m hoping for a play-off place at least. I’ve had enough of League Two. It’s crap; the football is crap the teams are crap and we have been crap. It’s time something changed.
This is me being an optimist, by the way.
Interestingly, I did the Ale Trail from Huddersfield to Manchester the other week and in one of the pubs I bumped into a guy wearing a Port Vale top. We had a good chat but he said that he didn’t fancy their chances and Walsall will probably get 6 points off them this coming season.
I hope he’s right.

Do you go to many Walsall matches Manchester? Living in Manchester you perhaps don’t come down.
I rarely come down these days, Andy. But I have been to a few “local” ones in recent years.
I used to try to brainwash the kids by bringing them down to Walsall (as my old man did for me) but it didn’t really work.

tbh i can see us finding other unknowns similar to how Draper was and give them the platform to flourish

It’s a good day out that! Done it quite a few times from Stalybridge back to Leeds then for a curry.
So we know what a lot of the fans expectation and targets are .Pity the manager and Trivela can’t really be a bit more pacific as to what there’s are .Oh hang on a bit he did with Daz in his interview “no targets no expectation set ,we don’t work like that .just improve things gradually.
and obviously we all have personal goals .” Sounds pretty good to me might just go with that myself to avoid disappointment for the umpteenth season again .

I would love to see us compete for a top 7 place, but as we stand now reality says with the sqaud as it is i can us struggling, we have hope that 3 players that was playing part time are going to make the jump upto full time and play a major part plus a young kid as 1st choice goalkeeper, strikers that don’t score alot, as it stands it doesn’t smack of gooin for it to me

Can’t say I’m keen on the current direction of this thread. Too many posters just coasting through it.

Expectation will always be promotion, but whether that will be achieved I’m not sure at the moment, due to the squad not being finalised. I’ll come back to this once we have made more signings.
What I will say is, I don’t think we’ll struggle, but I’d hate for us to not build on and better last season.
In the top 7, or at least take it to last couple of games and not the usual tailing off towards the end of the season. Hopefully see us a bit better on the ball. 3rd round of FA cup again please.
