30 Manchester Saddler.
We have 30 entrants so far which is great but we could do with 2 more at least to make it nice manageable number and easy to organise!
So come on people - who wants to be 31 and 32?! And don’t say Patrick McGoohan!
I am not a number …
Yes you are - you are number 12.
Welsh_Saddler …he is number 6
Im going to do a Sheppey shuffle and give this a miss to concentrate on incremental progress in the League standings this season as their need for the FA cup prize money & TV money is undoubtably greater than ours
Come on, UTSers, just two more of you - you there, lurking at the back! Join in!
Booo! If you share the same attitude towards the premier domestic cup competition as a number of our biggest teams do then thwre may be sanctions put in place!
Indeed, come on people! Surely 2 more can join in the fun!
Otherwise, i’ll be looking for 2 people alresdy signed up to enter their B or U-21 team and we don’t want that soiling the competition!!
@jayelar 31
come on , who will fill the last place?
If nobody fills the last place, i suggest that Jolly Johnny is given two entries, 1 and 32 as a thank you for organising it.
A points deduction at the very least…
How about this plan? For the first few rounds, we have a league of 32, then when we get to the 4th round, with 16 matches, the top 16 all play at home and the lower 16 away in a knockout. And, playing at home means that, in the event of a tie, you win. That means we always get a winner.
If you think you understand, you haven’t been paying attention.
Another good idea. I’ll mull it all over and decide the format by the end of the weekend!
Right, it’s Sunday night and entries to the FA Cup Prediction League are now…closed (please do not call as your vote will not count and you may still be charged by your provider!)
We have 32 entries (thanks to Jayelar’s suggestion, I have entered my u21s team as number 32 - I hope that is okay with everyone) and after a few suggestions on format, I have done an amalgamation of some of Laundryman’s ideas and my own. So the format is as follows:
All 32 predictors are drawn into 8 groups of 4, a la the Champions League / EFL Trophy!
Rounds 1-3: All 32 predict three games with their score lines, and get points as in the normal League 2 prediction league. These points total up over the 3 rounds to determine places 1-4 in the groups (in the event of a tie, I’ll go by the best score from any of the 3 rounds)
Round 4: This is where the knockout begins - The 16 predictors in the top 2 places of each group play against the bottom 2 places in the next group with the top 2 at ‘home’ and in the event of tied points gives them a bonus point to win, e.g. Group A 1st v Group B 4th; Group A 2nd v Group B 3rd and so on…
Round 5 to the Final: straight knockout, 16 predictors whittled down to 2 for the final, pairings will be drawn ahead of each round.
Here are the list of predictors:
- Jolly Johnny
- Simon
- Bluejay
- Cookyskid

I have drawn the 8 groups at random using an online random team generator - here is a snip of the resultant groups so you can see who you are up against. I have not studied it hard enough to work out which one is the ‘group of death’ but I’m sure there are some key numbers to look out for!!
I’ll set up the prediction thread for the 1st Round games and add your 3 games in there as normal. I’ll create groups on a spreadsheet and add updates after each round on this thread.
Good luck boys and girls!!
This is brilliant. Which is the group of death?
Group 1…
El Modico in Group 5.
