Former players - where are they now?

He has an ACL injury I think so will miss most of next season

Andy Cook was promoted with Bradford today.

Hope he doesn’t get a look in next season

Good chance he will sign for another league 2 club I would think

Guess who came on for a 2 minute cameo for Stoke today ? (FFS !!)

I noticed too

In a clearly fixed result as well :joy: A convenient nil nil if there ever was one.

Was t it Stoke and Gilligham that played out a convenient 0-0 to send us down from the Championship on GD

Yes.

If you have ever seen highlights from that game its outrageous they are basically having a training session and chatting amongst one another in second half :joy: I think Pulis was reading the newspaper in that game.

Looking back on those days, it is fair to say that was the turning point for the club. It’s been a slow, painful decline ever since. And with today’s result we have been dealt yet another crushing blow.

I honestly don’t know how we recover from this if we fail in the play offs. Next season could genuinely be horrendous, a completely deflated fan base with a manager that’s despised (assuming Trivela don’t pull the trigger)

If we fail we will bounce back. I am very disappointed that we might well have thrown this away but I will be back next season cheering on the team whatever.

Yes there will be loads more too…as you may have realised I don’t get to many away games these days but I thoroughly enjoyed today being with 2,000 + like minded folk who although disappointed supported the team throughout. The team incidentally played better today and although I am doubtful about the play offs it would be silly to write us off. The lads certainly play for each other and for us.

No disrespect, and it’s really not intended as a dig, but it’s easy to say stuff like that from several hundred miles away living your best life.

For a lot of those who live and breathe it in person each week, it’s a lot more difficult to be positive about the future.

I’m distraught - mainly for my boy’s sake more than anything else. He’s still upset bless him.

Nice to see you today pal - as seeing @RedandWhite too.

Classic Walsall.

Ah, I am disrespected tbh.
I’ve followed Walsall since 1972. I used to miss school to go to away games in midweek. I’ve been beaten up, ejected from grounds, bitten by a police dog and all sorts of other things following the club I love.
I’ve lived all over the country but still managed to go home and away for decades. Even though I’m now in Spain I’ve still watched every single game this season (apart ftom Newport when I was in surgery at the time), mostly here, but also 6 games live. I only gave up my season ticket this season but still buy an ifollow ST even though I can watch for free on my fire stick.
I plan my trips back to the U.K. to coincide with games that I can go to.
Should we get to the playoff final I’ll probably spend a grand or so over the BH weekend to be there.
I’m known around here as the Walsall fan, something that I’m proud of.
I’m hurting as much as anyone tonight but I alwsys try to be positive.

How likely now? I think we’re more likely to be playing Shrewsbury :frowning:

Fair enough - I just don’t get that headspace with being positive about next season.

I have no trust in them after what’s happened.

Fair play to you, I mean that sincerely, but you’re always going to have a level of disconnect when you’re not there in person. It’s objectively much easier to watch on the TV whilst getting jarred, and then doing 18 holes on some sun kissed golf course, than it is when it’s 3 degrees and raining, you’ve got a 3 hour drive ahead of you after a long week at work, and your only respite from the rigours of life is going to cost you a bomb, financially, mentally, and in your relationship, for no return - you must know that feeling?

Have to say that this site, and the people I’ve met through it, give me a connection that I could otherwise, easily lose. Probably why I’m on here so much :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’d much rather be at the game than watching it on tv but it’s what it is. I’m still invested in the club, both financially and emotionally.
