Former players - where are they now?

Thought that but there was a ridiculous goalmouth scramble at the end which Derby somehow didn’t score from.

I think it was a 0-0 and wait to hear what the results were going into last ten minutes. In the end both would’ve stayed up if they’d lost the game.

So much has happened since that post for so many of those players!

At least I get Bristol Away as a relatively close away game.

My only consolation, new grounds to tick off in the shape of Barnet, Bromley, Bristol Rovers, Crawley, Cambridge, and poss one of Halifax, Southend, York, or Gateshead (although I presume they’ll not be allowed up again if that’s the case?)

I belive a new Lease is secured so gateshead can go up.

Not that anyone wants to go there

Disappointed? DISAPPOINTED!
I’m feckin gutted. And it didn’t need to be this way. Failure by one stinking point - and by 30 seconds - that a few cameos from DJ would have saved us from.
Gutted.

I’d prefer we bounce forward had enough of back .

This is the about the level of bounce I’ve got left

It’s not over yet. As the week goes on we can start to believe again, we were so close today. We can be closer next week.

Would be better if your nearest away game next season is Exeter unfortunately I doubt it.

I find being positive or optimistic for me is a bit of a defence mechanism to try and protect myself.

Romaine Sawyers released by Bristol Rovers

Not a former player but Miguel Llera has also left Brizzle Rovers

Joe Riley on the end of a 3 nil pasting at home to Barnet, got booked too in 65th minute.

Rory Holden scored equaliser free kick as TNS come from behind to win Welsh cup yesterday.

We went down by one goal less scored I think

Our goal difference was one worse than Gillingham, but if we had scored one more we would still have gone down because they had scored more goals.
Iirc we needed to beat Rovrum by three goals to stay up (in the event that the Gills drew), and it was only 3-2 I think, even with the huge dollop of help Martin Butler gave us.

The ridiculous thing from that run in aside from Colin Lee saga is wasn’t there an issue with Paul Ritchie aswell?

He came into the backline and did well but there was some clause in his deal saying he’d get an extension if he played again and so he was left out for weeks and the defence collapsed.

Then was recalled for the Rotherham game and actually scored in it. Still left on a free so no idea what the issue was but Bonser penny pinching at its finest as it cost the club relegation.

Here is the Sky take on it:

It happened with Colin Anderson back in the early 90s too at bescot. Got to a certain number of games that would have activated a deal. We never played him again. Jeff for ya…

Ritchie could not play for Lee’s last four games in charge, but Bonser let Merson play him for our last four games of the season.

Unfortunately we lost the first of those matches five nil at Norwich, despite playing Ritchie.

Probably going to get stick for this but I’d have Sawyers back you can’t tell me Lakin and Stirk are anywhere near his quality.
Wimbledon fans were impressed with him there this season.
