If we bottle this……

I said exactly those words to the kids on the way to the game when the team was announced. That is the reality of it, and it does make you wonder if Lowe would have featured nearly as much if JG hadn’t got injured.

Me too. It would be a real kick in the teeth if we fall short, but I can’t imagine being anything other than a Saddler (albeit at a bit of a distance). Still think we will scrape it somehow, but will need significant strengthening if/when we get into L1.

I know this is a view that won’t be shared by all, but I am not even thinking about next season. It is all about this season and getting promoted to me. Even if we don’t get the title. If someone said to me you will get promoted but come straight back down, I’d take that. This club really needs something to celebrate, even if the high doesn’t last long, we really need it.

Promotions stay with you for ever. The young fans have never seen it. It feels like it is slipping away, but it is all still to play for.

Don’t disagree with any of that tbh.

Oh my good god! Do I have to read to such twaddle? I was there! We were crap, Sadler didn’t motivate them, the players looked scared stiff, and clearly some of the Jan signings are not good enough to even make the bench.
And some people still won’t here a bad word said against them. Get real! Coleman got into his players and look at the reaction tonight. They played for the badge. What did we do?

I think if we bottle this then we need a serious look at freshening up the squad and dugout… how would anyone still here go into next season with any confidence? But that’s a discussion for another day.

We need to understand our part in picking up these players. The messages coming out of the club seem to be rallying crys of ‘stick with us’ from players, management and PR.

Last year we had a spell of driving the players on after conceding and a run of games where we went on to win, the fans were credited with that across the board. We didn’t do that today, well one chant and then booing them at full time.

There is a sense of inevitably from supporters that we will fail, it’s becoming a self fulfilling prophecy not helped by Gordon being selected up front and the past 4 games.

If we don’t win soon this teams mentality with fall apart, we have a role to play beyond turning up at games. We could be the thing that turns this team around - like last year!

He’s definitely lost the dressing room I think. We lost Lowe but got a lot more players in!! something doesn’t seem right.

The thought of stick from Port Vale fans if we don’t go up now doesn’t bare thinking about.

I still have confidence as we have time to put this right. But it is wavering somewhat due to performances. Hopefully we get one performance to get the confidence going again.

Its a horrible blip in a great season.

I think it takes one win then it steadies the ship and its on the experienced players to see it through

He needs to ring the changes though and stop messing around with gordon and mcentee

I agree, my daughter said if we blow this then there is no hope for future seasons and I agree. I wouldn’t bother either. Why did we sign forwards to play, in my son’s words, goalless Gordon? Why aren’t the new midfielders getting on the bench. All of it seems odd.

The arrogance we showed in the window is now biting us hard.

The constant belittling of fans who seen it coming really does annoy me!

Well done Walsall

The early bird offer is going to be interesting if this form continues.

The constant negativity of fans who judge players based on reading transfer market style websites annoys me. The race to say I told you so seems premature.

Guess we have to suck it up and wait and see.

Well our struggles we face now are because we’ve signed players who not fit to offer a fat lot.

If it was the summer ok , but these are January signings we desperately needed to pick us up.

At this moment in time, i really can’t see where the next win is coming from. I really thought last night would be the game that turned things around, but all it did was leave me even more worried. I can’t even see us beating Morecambe on our current form.

Sadler is keeping faith with too many players players for me. Now our defence has lost its ability to basically defend, Simkin is being shown to be a keeper who is becoming very questionable and should not be our automatic 1st choice. Same goes for 3 or 4 other players as well.

Seeing how our midfield is struggling to get a grip on games now shows how weak the January recruitment was. None of the midfield options we signed seem to be pushing for selection which begs the question why we signed them when this area clearly needed fresh legs and options.

More worringly, Sadler’s interviews seem to be morphing into Michael Flynn’s and if that happens god help us. How he can say we were the only side who looked like winning it??? We were lucky to get a point last night.

If our wingbacks don’t get up the field, to support attacks, 352 will never work.
Throw in the fact that the midfield 3 (last night) are so lacking in creativity and poor in possession.
Nathan Lowe is a huge hole to fill, but it’s our post-Lowe performances that concern me, rather than the results.
We don’t even create chances nor look water-tight at the back.
Massive concern but surely Sadler has some nous to change it?

We used to have shots from anywhere and everywhere… need to get back to that.

Decided not to come on here when I got home last night as I was so frustrated

In my opinion, only Ellis came out of last night with any credit whatsoever…

Sadler seriously needs to inject something, anything into this team.

They look a pale shadow of themselves and that can’t be just about fitness, and most worrying is it’s affecting every single player at the same time - surely something has gone badly wrong and their mindset has been seriously affected…

Last night there was no quality anywhere on the pitch and what summed it up for me at one point was the 5 corners we had in about 90 seconds and every one, bar one, went low drill, front post and back out - we’ve had amazing success terrorising teams with deep accurate corners much of the season and we seem to have either forgotten that or how to do it!

How didn’t Lakin get on at some stage? Midfield looked lost at times…

Connor Barrett needs a rest - I said it after Fleetwood, his head has completely gone.

Liam Gordon was one of the worst players on the pitch and got MOM!

I know he’s very young but Simkin is entrusted in a team that is still top of the league but he’s becoming a liability and lacks authority… He and Dave were close to a bust up last night and it’s clearly a matter of time before the lid is blown off and we’ll look like a fractured team

2 points from 15 is horrendous form and whilst no one wants to talk about the wheels coming off (and meaning it) - its rapidly looking that way…
