Jack Rose Signs

Wrong type of signing, he’s even more inexperienced than Roberts. This is the worst arrival by a mile so far.

I see Southampton u23s conceded the least amount of goals in the league last year. With rose between the sticks… just saying

Loads of young goalkeepers have gone out on loan and done extremely well. One who springs to mind recently is Dean Henderson. Let’s now right off another before they’ve even kicked a ball.

Seriously thinking about leaving this forum just can’t believe people who are writing off another signing before he’s even played a game .
Just who would they like Clarke to sign , I believe Jack Butlands available !
Some of the people on here are either completely clueless regarding football or are wind up merchants , either way it’s not helping any one.
All the best to Jack and Liam

Maybe we should sign the Millwall full-back. Then again, Never was a story of more woe, than that of Saddlers signing Romeo…

Ridiculous statement! Think this could be a good signing and defo push liam Roberts for the starting place. As others have said loads of young goalkeepers at premier league clubs are very very good, else why would they take them, as it is a very specialist position and they can pick and choose who they want or not. Loads of young keepers go out to develop and some names have been mentioned here that we have even had. Another one springs to mind - joe Hart at Shrewsbury. The he went on to a few good things. Don’t think in our position we can grumble or expect much more tbh.

How on earth can we write players off without seeing them play. I’ve got a feeling we’re being played. Good luck at the Saddlers Jack.

Just answered my question.

“Go onto develop”. He has hardly played competitive mens professional football at 24 years of age. We needed an experienced League keeper and what we have is the complete opposite.

We needed a keeper who is going to push Roberts to the full and by the looks of things, Rose is just that.

Like Peel said, he conceded the least amount of goals last season in a PL2 title winning side, so tell me how that isn’t a good signing?

And having two young keepers pushing each other with someone as experienced as Maik Taylor coaching them every week can’t be a bad setup surely?

Maybe we couldn’t get one. Maybe because they didn’t want to come, we couldn’t afford them or the right one wasn’t out there. So we have the next best thing. I get your point about ideally wanting an older head but we are trading at a different market as it stands. For some reason I think he could do pretty well for us and even if he is still developing as a goalkeeper, it doesn’t mean he isn’t good now. etheridge developed with us but I don’t see people thinking he didn’t do well for us.

Hmmm - Anybody else realise this is very comparable to a 1998 blockbuster classic

Why is he "just that?

It will take a titanic effort to get promoted.

Safe to say he’s joined a sinking ship…

Thanks Wilts lol

It’s all speculation,I’d rather have a keeper with 300 appearances under his belt at league 1 or 2 level, you’re happy with 2 complete novice’s fighting over no1 spot,You could be right, and so could I.I hope it’s you,but I think it could end with us panic buying a keeper in the January transfer window.

I certainly wouldn’t want a keeper at the end of his career who has no motivation other than just dragging out one finalpayday. Give me a couple of hungry young keepers with something to prove anyday.
