Then comes on for 1 game and gets an automatic 3 game ban …
Could have been one of if not our best ever player in my era if only he wanted it and behaved
Bags of talent, loads of pace, threw it all away.
What ever happened to ishy ?
Did he not once forget we had a game at Bristol City under Merse? I think I was there???
Wiki has nothing later than 2015 when he played a handful of games for Thurrock. Before that he’d had a spells at Notts County and Northampton, after his one game in the Prem, for Blackpool.
He’ll be 33 on Tuesday so should still be playing at a good level.
NYD 2006? He thought it was an evening kick off but it was the afternoon.
Totally agree … he had it all . Remember watching him away at Hereford and he did a piece of magic as he did many times that made me think this lad could go far .
Was at Thurrock earning pennies last time I looked. At 32 his career is over. Just goes to show that talent is nothing without the right attitude and a brain .
He should be used as a “cautionary tale” for our young pros to let them know how it can slip away so easily.
I’ve just heard chunkster is cocker hoop over these signings , I’ve got a vid of him but how do I put it on here ?
Think all we can ask is Taylor gets the experience core of 3-4 players right. Clarke simply didn’t and would be amazed if Labadie isn’t more effective than Sinclair and Guthrie combined.
Had hopes for Lavery but again Wilkinson coming off a season where he’s comfortably reached double figures so very content so far.
Being greedy would love a Ince type keeper to come in but think that will have to wait until January given the current two are contracted, dominant CB will do though so reckon that will be the next signing.
He started the 2008/09 season pretty well IIRC, that hat trick v Southend and a few other goals so looked like the penny had finally dropped…but then had some breach of the peace issue and club sacked him. Think he’d actually been sent off for the club that day aswell.

Decent signing. Good luck to him.
Bossed a jail
I was a custody officer at Walsall Nick when Ishy got locked up for a breach of the peace from the place he was renting whilst at Walsall. All seemed to go downhill there on . He was all attitude whilst in our care . Only let himself down .
Bit late to the Labadie party but that’s an unreal signing. I’m just here thinking how the hell have we managed to sign him as we wouldn’t of attracted them kind of players in the past few seasons, so something must’ve clicked when Matty Taylor convinced him to come here, unless I’m probably wrong and money has come into play. Exciting times ahead for us!
I’m hoping MT reads the game as well as he he talks it to our signings!
I love the message these 2 signings send out to players approached by Walsall. Both Conor and Joss are telling potential signings to talk with Taylor and you will be impressed. I wonder who we’d have signed with Dutts in charge?
There are no reasons why experienced pros would need to read some kind of pre-prepared scripts and as such their praise of Taylor and Fullerton must be the absolute truth.
Orient and Newport fans both seem equally bamboozled, not by decent players leaving them but the fact they are leaving for Walsall!!
On paper, that bewilderment looks understandable as we seem in far poorer shape than both. Which again gives credence to the “Taylor sold it too me” stories.
We should be a big deal at this level and it seems that maybe becoming the case. The “stadium is amazing” stuff is actually true in the context of this league. Whilst we know that beneath the surface it is ramshackle, if you’re used to standing on Newport’s centre spot and looking around then comparing that with doing it from ours, then there is no comparison.
Having got these two impressive signings over the line, the next few players should be easier to persuade to join us.
