Because he literally suggested Sadler should be asked what he’s going to change for the next game……whether that’s the team, the tactics or the game plan it would be beneficial for the opposition to hear it if he was to reveal it.
Prat? Nice one cheers I get castigated if I call anyone on here a clown!!!
I agree with this although not in a knowing or conscious way. But players definitely took the more difficult selfish options too often rather than play with some intelligence and down to earth “this is my role” and being content to play their part.
Nobody has gone in on Sadler. He’s earned the right to write this one off so to speak on the understanding that good runs will have bumps along the road.
But make no mistake. Losing to Forest Green ain’t acceptable.
I wasn’t there today but watched on iFollow, and I’m still not sure how we contrived not only to not win, but to actually lose that. Up until their goal I just thought it was only a matter of time until we finally put one of our many chances away, and even when we got the pen I thought we would get back into it and then get another couple to finish off a spirited but limited FGR. On another day Gordon and Hutchinson would have scored at least 2 of the four golden opportunities they had between them - and a competent ref would not have given them the penalty that sealed our fate.
At least, although the result was bad, the performance was generally ok. Just need to put it behind us and push on, starting on Tuesday.
Quite simply a case of not finishing our chances leading to allowing them to get a lead and giving them hope and belief exactly what you don’t want to give a team battling for their lives at the wrong end of the table.
Yet again a good response to conceding getting the pen, convinced we score that and go on to win as all the doubt would have come flooding back to them or at the very least walk away with a point.
Very much one of those games where everything went against us but a lot down to our own making by not being clinical. Spent the whole game playing against 12 men, we’re used to seeing plenty of bad performances by refs but it’s been many years since I saw such a one sided performance by one but non of that should have mattered if we were more clinical so can’t use that as an excuse even if he was completely incompetent at best.
My biggest concern is the injuries and suspension more than the result.
Stick together, keep the great support going, that’s what will keep us in with a chance, need another typical Walsall performance by now going and beating one of the top sides.
Not read all posts, gets too demoralising at times, but good to read some/few more well thought out responses rather than the usual ‘Sadler out’ ‘PE teacher’ responses.
Overall played well certainly wasn’t a case of not being bothered, just a bad day at the office. That I can cope with and ‘accept’ it happens and will always happen in football.
Well done to all that attended and supported the boys for the full ‘90’ mins…
I literally do no research so everything I type on here is from memory. Which will get more interesting as the years pass!
So it’s 1-7. Still piss poor.
The difference yesterday was that we played well enough to win. The score line in no way reflective. In the other three games the score lines reflected the play.
A puzzling, almost baffling afternoon. I’ve woken up this morning and I’m still scratching my head as to how we’ve come away from that game empty handed. The performance levels on the whole were decent and we’ll win more than we lose on performances like that. Yesterday was just one of those days where nothing big seemed to go for us but just like we shouldn’t have gone overboard about the majestic winning run nor should we throw the baby out with the bathwater after an unlucky defeat. More detailed analysis later post debrief.
