L 2-0 vs Stockport County (H) - League Two - Thur 29th Dec, 7:45pm

So do Arsenal, and indeed probably every other club in the country.

Flynn’s primary task in the summer was to cut out some serious deadwood and change the mentality to reverse the decline, and he might have gone a bit far with his scalpal in my opinion, and in doing so, against the financial uncertainty of the takeover then needed some filler in the squad. He was then hit with an almost unprecendented injury crisis which meant the filler suddenly had roles to play on a regular basis. To deliver top half going into Jan against that backdrop is 7.5/10 decent management. I would love to see Flynn given some better quality to manage than he had at Newport or now here, because he’s earn’t that. Let’s see what this lot have got in their locker over say the next two transfer windows is what I’m saying.

We need

A bustling centre forward who can win in the air and hold the ball up

A midfield general.

And at least 1 wide player

What we would do for another Martin O’Connor. Tonight’s game cried out for a player of his ilk.

We reverted back to hoof ball today
They were very good
We sucked
Hopefully just a bad case of complacency or just a bad day at the office but this was as bad as anything during our winless run

We need a pissin midfielder who gets to dropping balls first and makes the ball stick in their half, the amount of times tonight we lost out in the middle of the park was a joke.

Kinsella just isnt that player.

Not even in the same league

Cant win football matches with so many off the pace. Some absolute stinkers out there today bar the Keeper who was excellent. The subs just destroyed us as well we were absolutely all over the place, nobody can tell you what formation we were playing. We will have to write this one off quickly.

Having said that Stockport look the complete package, they could easily have knocked us for 5. They look top 6 material to me. Quality in every area of the pitch but it might have been nice to test the keeper…

Big reaction needed on Sunday, and a big January coming up in the window…

Totally agree with u.

Special note for evans who was very good
And knowles who I still think is rubbish

I fully expect Flynn to do some wheeling and dealing in January. Whether we get the required quality is another matter. We will have to wait and see.

I’m not going to put too much on one game though, I think sometimes people forget two teams play a football match and both usually want to win. Even if you think Stockport are better player for player which they probably should be actually, Flynn got done over tonight in my opinion. That’s not a knock at him, it happens.

Agree with a lot of the comments above but first I would like to praise our goalie who had a fine match. The rest of the team underperformed. We know most of them are better than we saw tonight . The big question is why ? I hope the Manager knows the answer because I don’t.
One other point you can see why DJ is not rated by some Managers. Another striker is needed whether he stays or goes.

100%

DJT is just a waste of a space at the club.

Its hard to remember someone try any less than he did when he came on today.

Absolutely spot on and that’s why this one for me was such a good test of where we actually are.I’d say DJ is off sooner rather than later too going on his substitution so we need to replace his goals quickly and add more to the team or you can write this season off and quickly in my opinion.

Not disappointed with losing it happens, but I am disappointed that it appears we are good way off being good enough to compete for promotion.

I think we might have to spend a few quid to get out of this division.

The better team won tonight, they were stronger than us in every aspect. We had far too many off the pace and we looked clueless. First defeat in 10… maybe we needed this to reset and go again. Bennett is going to be a big miss in my opinion.

Need to move on from that quickly.

They were better in every department.

The two midfields were a complete mismatch. Their
midfielders all seemed to be the ideal mix of the qualities of Kinsella and Knowles. Tough and determined guys who can also play.

Kinsella’s weakness shown as early as the second minute when he spooned an unchallenged cross straight out for a goal kick and Knowles completely done by a more determined player for their second goal. Earing off the pace by some distance.

Can’t knock the gaffers subs. All made sense - unlike Sunday they just didn’t come off.

Disappointing but we can’t complain and can’t sulk. Another big one on Sunday.

We’re back into the bottom half of the fourth division. If we are truly moving forward we need to cement ourselves in the top half.

It might be a controversial thing to say on this board but Yes I 100 pct agree with you. I absolutely get why some managers would not want Danny Johnson

Of those names you’ve mentioned I’d like to throw Hutchinson into the mix if I may.Without sounding out of turn he looked like a cart horse tonight he really did.

Yep, we tend to play poorly when he plays poorly, and he was very poor this evening.
