L 2-0 vs Stockport County (H) - League Two - Thur 29th Dec, 7:45pm

Andy said…

"…MF decides to start Wilko alongside DJ (who won’t be playing on Sunday, and again it might be his last appearance for us full stop, so expect him to start even though he wasn’t at his best on Boxing Day) "

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that Flynn said we had DJ until at least the 15th which means that barring injury/suspension he’ll still be with us for the cup game and the game away to Tranmere. So it’s not likely to be his last game for Walsall, but it could be his last game for us at Bescot.

Also… I’d still be cautious with Wilko if I were MF. I wouldn’t start him tomorrow and I wouldn’t start him against Mansfield, but I’d use tomorrow to give him some minutes and get a little sharpness in the hopes it’ll be enough for him to do a job in the last 30 mins or so against Mansfield.

Yeah, that is a good call, I’ll be getting down there earlyish to pick up my ticket as well as my one for Tranmere, then head off for some food somewhere. May head back a bit early too and get a pint in the stadium suite before the game!

Looking forward to this (although need to shake off the seasonal cough and cold I have) and hope for a better journey on the M6 than I had yesterday! (another reason I’ll be there a bit earlier) :+1:

Problem is Belph, I got five extra tickets for friends and family and it cost me £6.50 in booking fees to receive e-tickets… it’s a shocker

It’s mad really because if the ticket office is open then it doesn’t cost anything

Im sure you can ring the ticket office and purchase them over the phone and have them email the tickets to ya while bypassing the extra charge.

When I phoned up for my tickets, she offered me them either as e-tickets or to be emailed to me, even though I went with collecting in the end, so that is certainly an option.

I will get mine tomorrow then and get there early.

Ah ok, I go online for convenience. In this day and age there should be no need to call the ticket office.

We don’t want to put folk out of jobs plus it gives people options. Older folk may not be used to modern day technology.

Really looking forward to this one myself and hoping for a bumper ground over the next 2 games.

It is also the first game including the half season ticket promotion along with all the other positive factors already mentioned, wonder how many extra this will add?

Would take a point, but be over the moon with all 3 obviously!

If you phone the ticket office to buy them, they e-mail the tickets for free

I get that, but it’s not really the point. Only a tiny percentage of fans won’t have a smartphone, and even the majority of those will have a friend or relative that can sort it for them. You shouldn’t have to line up at the ticket office, but even the small percentage that have to shouldn’t be in a queue because of the above (if that makes sense)… If you phone the office, they will e-mail you the ticket, so they keep their jobs and you don’t have to queue. Everyone’s a winner.

What will be the attendance do you think?if this was a Saturday afternoon we could have hot 8k which would be amazing
Prob 7k at most being evening

Not a usual evening game though, most people I know are off all week and obviously the kids are off school, temperatures look mild and no icy and dangerous conditions forecast which may have deterred a few. Stockport look like they’re bringing a large gate with them too so got to be at least 7,000 I’d have thought. I’m bringing 3 non Saddlers with me which will help it along as well.

Around 7k almost guaranteed for this game great atmosphere under the lights for a change.
Tough game 1-1 for me . Hoping for all 3 but it would keep the run going. So sad I can’t be at this game :weary:

The Bescot doesn’t hold that many, does it? Not that I’m expecting that many. Just saying.
Is the Bescot capacity 13,000?

As the game in question happened in 1967, wouldn’t you think it was at Fellows Park (of blessed memory)
to us oldies?

The most squashed I’ve ever been was in the previous cup tie against Port Fail (att: 21,811)
